Excellent location, wonderful grounds. Very clean and comfortable. Well stocked kitchen.
Loved the four poster bed and window seats.
Lovely area with lots to see and do.

The peace and quiet

A comfortable, cute cottage (surprisingly spacious),surrounded by beautiful flowers in a lovely courtyard, where you can sit at a picnic table and enjoy refreshments. The view opposite is the Victorian wall with an alleyway into the most stunning grounds, woodland walk, stream and lake.
The grounds have numerous seats to enjoy the view to the Cheviots.
Mellerstain staff were friendly and quick to reply to my email questions.
Such a peaceful place - can recommend!
The cottage could get a bit chilly (the weather was freezing!) but the heating boost button helped.

The location and surroundings were incredible. The freedom to walk about the grounds was a bonus, and really made my stay. The cottage was lovely.
There were no clear directions provided re the collection of the key, but thank you to the helpful and assuring staff at Booking.com - help, who managed to sort comms before I arrived.
The house was extremely cold. The heating was on but radiators cold. When its 0 degrees outside, it would have been nice to have some warmth in the house.
