Appin House B&B

Contact was extremely helpful with helping us get in a little late, when there was an issue with the front door being locked by another tenant. And loved loved loved the jacuzzi!

I had booked the place assuming there was breakfast and the kitchen was closed that morning.

Easy to walk into the centre. An up to date bathroom.

Would have liked a chair to sit on in the room rather than just the bed. The bath towels were on the small side. Communication from Booking.com not great. Didn’t get the arrival instructions until after we arrived.

We were really impressed with this B&B it is well worth its value for money, the staff were very helpful and the location was great, within easy walking distance of everything within the town. Easy Check-in too.

The only thing I would recommend would be a small window lock on the ground floor.

Jacuzzi was great once we figured out how to operate it. Location was quite nice, room was comfortable.

A lot of things were unfortunately not as advertised. We were expecting a nice romantic getaway and instead got more of a private room at a hostel. There was no daily cleaning, the towels were horribly cheap, noise could clearly be heard from the hallways/adjoining rooms despite "soundproofing", and there was no breakfast despite it being a so-called "B&B". The room also felt quite a bit smaller than promised and the bed was a standard double despite being advertised as being extra long (we were in the king room). And the "seating area" was a small stool with a desk. The host was kind the one day we got breakfast, but afterwards we were completely unable to get a response from them. We would have liked a pamphlet with some information and recommendations for the area, and some basic information on how to operate things in the room (it was not obvious how to operate the jacuzzi). Breakfast was also quite sub-par, especially considering we've had excellent breakfasts for similar priced stays elsewhere in the Highlands. Fort Augustus and the Loch Ness area is totally worth a visit, but I recommend finding somewhere better to stay.
