Great location, very friendly personal! A lot of restaurants near the hotel and small souvenir shops.
the wardrobe has the smell of old age, shower cabin is really small and does not have a door at all.

I had a relaxing week away from ongoing problems and was grateful for a sunny break without frills.
The staff in the hotel, the weather and the big & good variety of bars and restaurants very close to the hotel. The quality of food was, by and large, good and reasonably priced. Not surprisingly I went back to the restaurants I preferred, particularly The Iliada beach hotel (just about next door to the Molfetta Hotel) .I must single out Marianna in the breakfast restaurant who ensured I had crispy bacon every morning (which nobody else got - because the kitchen doesn't cook the bacon for general consumption properly - a great shame) and Thalia & Stamatis in Reception who were particularly simpatico and helpful. There was another lady in Reception who was very helpful, but I don't know her name (Thalia could identify her).
The beach was a great disappointment. Not sandy or pebbly, but made of gravel, and not particularly clean. Size was not a problem, but it was uncomfortable under foot and could do with a lot of homework to make it look more attractive. But the MOST disappointing thing of all was the sea. Quite frankly it was disgusting and dirty. I do expect to be able to see underwater when wearing goggles, but I could barely see my hand in front of my face. Perhaps, if I had gone out a further 150 metres into the bay, it would have been better, but I didn't even try - I felt very let down. A very unpleasant incident on my first night when, having arrived, tired, at the hotel ca. 7.30pm Local Time, I was delighted to come across a very clean looking restaurant (9 Muses) close to the hotel. I ordered a seafood linguine - and have to say that the mussels, clams, prawns, the pasta & the sauce were quite delicious, but the 6 small pieces of calamari were like chewing a rubber tyre. Having eaten it all, (except for the calamari), the waiter asked me how my meal had been, so I told him both the good and the bad (as above) and asked him to tell the chef as well. The next thing was the owner/manager of the hotel was at my table, berating me verbally, saying that he had been serving calamari in his restaurant for 38 years and that, THEREFORE, it simply wasn't possible for there to have been anything wrong with the calamari that had been served to me. Unimpressed by the logic of this outburst, I responded by saying that I had been eating calamari for more than 38 years, and that I could tell the difference between delicious soft and tender calamari and a second-hand tractor tyre.
