Located in Adelaide, this charming house for $151 per night is a great option for your next vacation. St Marks Church provides unique, self-contained accommodation in a heritage sandstone building. Providing 3 bedrooms with lounge/kitchen & an upstairs loft with a library and study area. The space is a perfect blend of old and new, with the original stained-glass windows and architecture of the church perfectly complemented by modern amenities and comfortable furnishings. The location is perfect for a stay in Adelaide - many shops and cafes, are within walking distance. We are set in the leafy suburb of Maylands which is adjacent to Norwood - one of Adelaide’s most popular dining and shopping districts. Major events and the city centre are less than 10’ away by bus or car. It’s perfect for access to sporting events, music concerts, theatre and all the major festivals. The generous living space (150 sq) is totally private. You have your own separate wing with separate driveway and entrance. It also includes a private outdoor space for your exclusive use. Quick Summary 10 mins to WOMAD @ Botanic Gardens 5 mins to National Wine Centre 9 mins to Adelaide Oval & Festival Centre. Allow for parking during major events 7 mins. to the zoo 25-30 minutes to the airport 3 min. walk to Magill Road and Bus Stop No. 6 7 mins to the city centre. 45-60 mins to wine regions Frequently Asked Questions Question: How many beds & bedrooms? Answer: 3 bedrooms with 3 queen beds & a single day bed = 4 beds in total. Ideal for 3 couples (6) or 3 singles. 2 bedrooms are downstairs next to the 1 bathroom the third very large bedroom is upstairs via a spiral staircase Question: Is there off-street parking? Answer: Off-street gated long driveway for 2-4 cars. Question: Is there outside seating? Answer: 2 secluded outdoor seating areas exclusively for guests Question: Is there air conditioning? Answer: There is air conditioning in every room throughout the property. Question: Am I sharing with other guests or the host? Answer: No the space is entirely yours for the length of your stay. Question. How old is the building? Answer: Building work on St Marks Anglican Church commenced in 1902. In 1992 the building was converted to a large home. 1n 1995 we purchased the home for our family and in 2010 we converted it to a building suitable for short stay accommodation and have been improving it every year since. Most of the accommodation fees are re-invested in the building and garden. We aim to preserve the heritage of the building while providing contemporary facilities for quests.

The property is amazing, a well thought out church building conversion. Very comfortable, had everything we needed (and more) for a 5-day stay. Fully set up kitchen which allowed us to self-cater. Comfortable couches and bed. Bath, separate shower, washing machine and dryer. Lovely decorative touches throughout. Karin is a excellent host - nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend both property and host.

Karin was very helpful as the host and willing to help if we needed anything. Only downside for us the house has 3 bedrooms with queen size beds which made it difficult to share amongst 4 guys but we survived. If it is going to cater for 7 guests then definitely needs an additional toilet and bathroom.

Just want to say the place was fantastic and absolutely charming, we loved it. The place was perfect for me and a couple of mates for our annual getaway. The rooms are an excellent size, great tv, wifi that works, good sized fridge for drinks, easy access, plenty of parking and close to town.
Karin was extremely helpful in making our stay awesome.

We loved our church stay it was a great experience we will talk about for years. There's so much effort gone into every detail, from the heritage plates to eat from and crystal glassware to the batch brew coffee. The artefacts throughout the space and the church history information left for us was a journey in itself! Only wish we could open a window for fresh air, but the air conditioning worked perfectly fine. This is an experience everyone should have once in their lives, thanks Karin you were a lovely host.

5 adults stayed and it worked really well. Everything you could possibly want and very comfortable beds, seating and heating. Only challenge was getting suitcases up the spiral staircase!

St Marks church was extremely clean and welcoming. Check-in was seamless and essential items were readily available. We appreciated the special touches such as fresh flowers and a tin of biscuits. Definitely to be recommended!

A very special place in Adelaide
Karin’s place is a very special stay full
of character and history. The tapestry and wall pictures tell of the richness of the early church. One can feel the warmth and pride Karin takes to make her place welcoming to her guests. Each room is differently decorated with a lot of details that show her thoughtfulness to make your stay comfortable. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our week here.

Outstanding Accommodation
We had the pleasure of staying in this amazing converted church over the weekend and it was possibly the best accommodation we have ever stayed in. A very roomy, beautifully decorated and scrupulously clean apartment in a very convenient location.The apartment has every possible amenity to make your stay as comfortable as possible plus it is walking distance to The Parade with its plethora of fantastic cafes and shops . The lovely host is helpful and accommodating and responds quickly to messages. I cannot fault this beautiful quirky accommodation. We will be coming back if not for the accommodation alone!

This is an incredible place to stay
We arrived late, everything was laid out for us to make our stay comfortable
There was even milk in the fridge for our morning coffee, which I might add there was three ways to brew your coffee which was supplied. All literature for the surrounding area plus places of interest. Our host was always available to assist us with any queries.
This is an experience to stay here.
Because of the thick walls your sleep is uninterrupted very quiet.
We are also owners of a five star location and yes they have found the right combination to make a travelers stay enjoyable. We will be back.

Hidden comfort in Maylands
This is a lovely place to stay. Very quiet location, but still close to the City. The online photos are accurate, but add to that the small things - attention to detail, home baked welcome cookies and 3 types of coffee maker! The beds not only look nice, but are super comfortable. It's a rare day that you find such a comfortable bed and sleep on the first night!

Fantastic warm inviting sanctuary, a MUST STAY
Wow, from the moment we arrived we knew we had found the most perfect place.peaceful, relaxing, beautiful, picturesque yet close to city. Karin really is the hostess with the mostess. Close by if you need her, but leaving you with your ultimate privacy otherwise. We would highly recommend to anyone the most enjoyable stay at St. Mark's. Thank you, we would definitely come back.
