It’s a beautiful and tastefully restored old chateau with a small number of rooms to stay in. It’s situated within the Franc Mayne estate so that means that there are rolling fields of rows of vines in all directions. There is a rich history to the region and the estate that is so interesting to hear about during the vineyard tours that are available to join. We enjoyed how peaceful the place is; whether from the room, looking out of the beautiful big french windows or sitting out on the terrace. In the evening all you can hear is the sound of crickets. We instantly relaxed on arrival, which was much needed and appreciated after a couple of very hot, busy days in Paris. Merci beaucoup to the lovely Rachel and Pascale for looking after us.

This is a special place to stay and very beautiful. The location is lovely, the staff are ever so helpful, the grounds are delightful, the breakfast is delicious and we had a wonderful weekend. I recommend the wine tour as well of Franc Mayne - it is fascinating. If you are coming by train to Saint Emilion, you will need to get the staff to book you a pick up taxi from the station (or uber is available) as it is a very small station. Note there is no left luggage at the station as it is very small, but you can organise access to drop off your bags to be left at the guest house until check in time (get the taxi to wait while you do this or you will need to get a new one to get back into the village). Taxis are flat fees for pick ups out of the village. The village is about a 20-25 minute walk and pleasant in cooler weather, but not so easy in high heat).
