Loved the ambience and lakeside location.

Hotel is located right next to the lake. It has magnificent wisteria flowers growing everywhere, so if you come in may, those will look even better (we were visiting in second half of august and it was still looking amazing without all the flowers). The room is very good - room and hotel in general has a lot of small Italian details/art all over the place. I had an impression that it might have been a villa of some very rich family back in the days that got redone into a hotel - it is a very pleasand experience to be there.
As a hotel in the area of so little space, there is a rule that you need to level your car key at the reception if you park your car in the hotel garage, so that they can move it in case required. It would not be a big deal - I have left my keys in other hotels before, but in this one, you leave those keys in an open area where it seams anyone can actually pick them up. I'm not sure if they do not have a safer place for such, but even hiding them into a drawer would be better honestly.

Amazing Property, one of my favorite holidays
5 / 10·Jul 2025
The location of this hotel is amazing, right on the waters edge.
Apart from the location there isn’t really much to praise. The hotel seems stuck in a Swiss/Italian version of Fawlty Towers given that neither the decor nor set-up hasn’t been upgraded since the 1980s. For example, breakfast tables are decided in advance by the hotel and clearly positioned in order of the guest’s importance. Perhaps as a consequence the staff seem very tired and fed up with their jobs: when we left the manager didn’t even look up when saying goodbye. Of course, some may find this old-school style and running of a hotel charming.
A more practical issue was that 20€ was charged (on top of the 15€ for parking) for EV charging regardless of how much electricity was used. This wasn’t communicated in advance.
