Unusual kind of building - old monastery, it has unique atmosphere, spacious rooms, wifi seemed stable and reliable, staff was pleasant, location is good and within walking distance to the old town.
Since it's an old building the floorboards can be quite creaky which was unfortunately causing some noise early in the morning when the guests above us were walking around their room.

Het uiterlijk van de kamer (sfeervol) en goede bedden. De locatie was top bereikbaar met openbaar vervoer en loopafstand naar de Korenmarkt en Graslei.
Niets maar als ik iets moet aangeven, er stond een koffiezetapparaat dat we niet werkend kregen ondanks het instructieblad. Plaats iets eenvoudigers.

La ubicación, a 10 minutos del centro de la ciudad
Las habitaciones no tienen ningún tipo de insonorización, se oye absolutamente todo lo que estén haciendo el resto de huéspedes que tengas al lado o encima. Sobre todo encima, ya que el suelo es de madera (con moqueta por encima) y al caminar cruje, lo que hace que se oiga todo movimiento que hagan las personas que tengas en la habitación de encima lo que hace que sea difícil descansar al 100%. El personal poco empatico, no cuesta nada atender con una sonrisa o ayudarte si tienes dudas. El lugar tiene encanto, pero no volvería a hospedarme aquí, no tiene la calidad-precio que se espera de un sitio así.

Uns hat die direkte Nähe zur Altstadt gut gefallen, die absolute Ruhe, trotz zentraler Lage.l, die Parkplätze im Innenhof. Wir haben die kleiner Bar am Abend genossen. Die Besichtigung der Kirche ist ein absolutes muss. Gut gefallen hat mir die sakrale Musik im Bereich des Empfangs. Alles war sehr sauber und gepflegt.
Die 20m2 des gebuchten Zimmers kamen mir viel weniger vor, vielleicht wegen der Dachschräge und weil das Fenster war extrem winzig war.

This hotel had a lot of character. The location was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was once a monastry so it reflects the room designs.
I would have picked a room which was in the renovated section of the hotel. Our older style room had a toilet which was separate to the bathroom, there was no mini fridge or any other handy kitchen items. There was also a very creepy picture on the wall which we took down temporarily while we were there. In saying so, the price was good.

Uiterlijk en historisch gevoel van het hotel plus de locatie vlak bij het centrum...
Ik vond het personeel niet echt gastvrij... het kinderbedje wat we bij de reservering hadden aangevraagd plus wat was toegezegd was niet op de kamer aanwezig... er zat een nachtlampje boven/ op de matras waardoor we één bed moesten verschuiven voordat we hier normaal gebruik van konden maken... plus hadden we bij het inchecken geen uitrijkaart gekregen, dus toen we een dag later tegen het einde van de middag hier alsnog om vroegen gaf de receptionist aan dat hij ons de dag ervoor had gemeld dat we maximaal 2 uur na het uitchecken het parkeerterrein moesten verlaten, wat hij niet had gezegd, en de interactie hieromtrent heb ik als ongastvrij en onvriendelijk ervaren...

Prachtige locatie en dichtbij de stad gelegen. Genoeg parkeerplaats, goed ontbijt en zeer fijne bedden. Echt geweldig personeel, veel dank aan hen. We komen zeker nog eens terug.

ik kreeg een hele grote kamer met groot bed, aparte zithoek, tafel met stoel, aparte grote badkamer met bad. Ik voelde me een belangrijk figuur uit de Middeleeuwen in deze omgeving. De kerk is ook zeer mooi.

Prijs kwaliteit, voortreffelijk en zeer uitgebreid ontbijt. Het was heel schoon. Voldoende ruim. Locatie is perfect, midden in de stad. Wij waren met 6 en hadden voldoende ruimte in de 6 persoonskamer.

La ubicación y el hecho de alojarte en un monasterio tiene su encanto pero en general fue decepcionante.
Reservamos dos habitaciones porque viajábamos en familia y éramos 8 personas. Pedimos que estuvieran juntas y no atendieron esta petición. Además, una de las habitaciones estaba en la zona reformada y la otra no, presentando niveles de comodidad muy diferentes. Sin embargo el precio para ambas era el mismo.

Receptie. Belabberd. 10 minuten aan de bel gehangen. Niemand te zien. Receptionist verwijst naar kamer , een annexgebouw, zonder meer. Zwakke verlichting buiten dus eerst verkeerde gebouw binnen. Ontvangst dus zeer koel.

The monasterium are in fact several buildings. I know only the one I had my room in, and have an impression of the building where the breakfast room was. It is very beautifully laid out, and the location, so close to the city centre, is very nice. Breakfast was abundant, with lots of choice & good quality food.
To get to my room I had to navigate 6 staircases, as that specific building didn’t have a lift. I know some of the other buildings do have a lift, so if you need one be sure to ask for it when you book your room. Or stay at the ground floor, obviously.

Breakfast I would say was okay but fairly limited. Taking into account the very central location Eu25 to park overnight feels excessive .

The hotel has a great atmosphere and the staff is exceptionally friendly. We felt very welcome by particularly Esma and her colleague at the reception upon check-in.

The family room has two floors, big enough and comfortable for 2 adults with children.
The breakfast was poor, we haven’t found anything to eat for our kid, but after all we managed the breakfast costs with the reception team. They said they try to improve the breakfast. Right now it’s too bad and too expensive - 25 Euro per person.

We loved our stay at Hotel Monasterium PoortAckere, it was perfect for our family of four. There was two separate bedrooms both with ac and mini fridges. The beds where comfy and shower was good. The staff where all very lovely, I would 100% recommend this hotel.

My family of 4 (ages 18+) stayed in a quad room. Two of the beds (bunk beds) were in a separate room which gave us all more space for privacy and relaxation, which was really nice. Hotel was quiet and peaceful, staff was helpful, and breakfast was good and super convenient and included champagne! We loved that it’s a historic property. The courtyard is a nice area for hanging out in the evenings or for bringing in food for a picnic.
There are very few restaurants in the immediate area so you will need to walk 10-15 minutes. For the most part this is fine, but when you are tired and just want something quick, it would be nice to have nearby options.
