The location was excellent. About ten minutes walk from the Hauptbahnhof and situated in the market square. I had a great view of this from my room. It's in the centre of 'old' Bonn, so the hotel has a lot of history - (in and around it). There are a lot of shops and restaurants close by.

I arrived in a heatwave, to discover the top floor room I had requested was very hot (being at the top) and very close to the market clock which chimes every quarter hour. As I needed to sleep, I asked if I could change, and the very helpful duty manager immediately upgraded me to a room on a lower floor at the back, which was much more airy and peaceful. He also provided a kettle and a mug - I had my own teabags, being British. He also printed documents for me; in general the staff were great, the location ideal, and the restaurant next door serves excellent German food at very reasonable prices (I am a Camden Town foodie, so I don't say this often). I also enjoyed running along the Rhine in the mornings.
Given the inevitability of even more heat in future, air conditioning would be a bonus; the fans provided instead are very noisy, so it wouldn't be possible to sleep with it running - plus it just moves the air around without cooling it.
The breakfast was a bit underwhelming too; I appreciated that the butter, jam, yoghurt etc were not packaged (good for the environment) and the cake homemade, but the leathery egg and chopped up melon became monotonous after a couple of days.

Nice hotel in a perfect central Bonn location close to public transport. Perfectly fine breakfast buffet and rooms are comfortable but ours was not very large.
Room was fine but layout could be more efficient.

The hotel is in a central location in the old town overlooking the square and 500m from the station. The room is spacious with high ceilings.
The room was drab with outdated decor. Although the hotel warns that the washbasin is in the bedroom, the arrangement is annoying, with a separate toilet and shower. Unfortunately, there was a heatwave when I visited. There was a fan but no air conditioning so the heat was unbearable.
