Did not have breakfast. The hotel is old and in need of redecorating. However, I was only there two nights, my room was clean, of a reasonable size, there was a lift to the 2nd floor which was handy and for £2.50 I was able to park outside for the day with a permit from the hotel. Parking meters abound and it's very expensive but there is free parking a street or two away.
Bathroom could do with a bit of titivating but it was clean and all worked OK. That is not a complaint, just an observation.

Good Location
We had an electric fan in the room with broken stands. Requested a new one but did not do anything at all with our request.

Close to the seafront and restaurants in Carlisle Road.
Shower screen was broken and looked like that had been the case for some time. As a consequence I spilled some water on the floor which I used a bathmat to mop up. I was very disappointed to find that the white mat was then filthy. The floor had obviously not been cleaned for some time. I did not enjoy being woken up early by the noisy kitchen ventilation system mounted on the wall outside. Breakfast was OK if you like a cooked breakfast otherwise the choice was limited to cereals, toast, yoghurt pots and a dozen apples. A tired hotel. Litter around the entrance.
