The staff are very friendly, especially the concierge, Chida, who was very helpful. They also provided me an extra duvet to soften the mattress. The views are great. Breakfast is pretty good with quite a lot of variety. The nearby beach has a great cafe - try the lassi, which is homemade yoghurt with home made strawberry smoothie!
The room is small for a resort. The onsen is also small and the wood in the outside tub is slimy and going black. There seems to be no bar or place to hang out in the evenings. The pool is not very big and continually filled with kids - absolutely no way to swim. While there is a small beach nearby, it is a long climb down. Very few staff speak good English, especially on the front desk

we loved the Hawaii feeling at the end of our Japan trip! It’s a perfect hotel to relax for some days. The pool is great and the ocean is also beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming! We’d definitely come back!
The bathrooms are a bit old fashioned as compared to other hotels we’ve booked here and I personally think that the price is a bit high, but we would pay it again! 🙃

Nice view, nice staff and great breakfast buffet with great local and international alternatives.
The hotel seems quite old and outdated, was however clean. Situated on the mountaintop and not the easiest to get to without shuttle bus/ car. We were in Shimoda off season (beginning of September) and the city is completely dead, almost no restaurants or entertainment around. Would consider booking dinner with the hotel if u decide to stay here.
