The rooms are very nice, and where I was it was also very quiet, which I appreciated. The bar was very convivial too. All of the staff were very pleasant, efficient and friendly. Unfortunately I wasn't there long enough to really make use of all the facilities...perhaps on my next visit !
My only problem was that the room I had was in a separate building from the main hotel, and from that room it was quite a trek up a very steep hill to get to the carpark. Luckily I didn't have much to carry myself, but my colleague had quite a bit of gear, and even dropping this off at the main reception and walking up from there wasn't easy. Someone showed us a short cut across the grass to the carpark but this would only be feasible if the grass was as dry as it was when we visited...and when we got to the top of the hill a water pipe was leaking, and had turned the area around it into a bog which we struggled to get around ! None of this is the fault of the hotel, but I think the distance of some of the rooms from reception needs to be made more clearly known when booking, as elderly or disabled people would have trouble getting up the hill to accommodation buildings.
