It has a great location close to the Kanazawa Castle and very easy to reach Kenroku-en. It is a very good hotel to pick for sightseeing.
There is no designated smoking area. Even if the rooms and facilities are non-smoking, it is standard to provide an area or a room dedicated for guests who wish to smoke. At this point you're left to your own imagination trying to find a place nearby.
With the place also having a policy to only clean every 3 days, for the environment (read for their own profits), I would not recommend it for longer stays where comfort is a priority.
