A fantastic place. Great parking excellent rooms and fantastic food. I was on the road for work when I needed to stay. But I'd stay here with my wife it was comfortable and nice. A great place for a weekend away.
The spiral staircase is a little tight.

Well the staff made the stay for us, such friendly people. Nice clean rooms, lovely location and pub.
There’s nothing not to like really, it was spot on. In the reviews people mention the steep staircase and low ceilings. We had a 6-month-old baby and an 18-month-old with us in the one bed and managed absolutely fine. It’s not exactly the Ritz but it’s REALLY good value. Reading the reviews I realise some people just like to have a moan.

Very spacious bathroom and good shower.
It's really not clear enough in the description that the bed is on a different floor to the bathroom, which given the narrow, polished wood spiral staircase between the two is important to know. Yes it's mentioned that the bedroom is on a different floor to the living area, but not clear enough about the bathroom. I don't have mobility issues but I found the staircase nerve-wracking and I couldn't get my small suitcase up there. The second big problem for me was the duvet. I have actually never seen such a thin duvet. I had a look to see what the Tog rating was, couldn't find it, but it had poppers in the corners, and was clearly just one half of a pair of duvets. Someone must have forgotten to attach the winter part!! I was so cold that I had to double the duvet over in order to get to sleep. A couple of thin throws did not help much. This needs to be so much cosier! A complimentary packet of biscuits with the tea and coffee (good selection) wouldn't have gone amiss either. These two aspects gave the impression of penny-pinching.
