Excellent - in many ways.
The concept - small hotel with comfortable cafe as the lobby - is a very good one, and it delivered!
- Location: Very good, a one-minute walk to Da’an train station, lots to eat nearby.
- Room comfort - the room was not big, but was indeed exactly as expected and plenty for what we needed. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was fine, no problem, with a good quality toilet (bidet functions, etc)
- Service - very friendly, always ready to help, and it was quite pleasant that the barista was also hotel reception. There are various nice touches that make it feel like a service-oriented (vs profit hungry) business.
- Work - who wants a « business center » when you could get a comfortable cafe right outside your hotel room? :-)
The daily cleaning was limited in what was included

This nice and cozy family-run hotel, which located a stone’s throw away from Daan station, is super convenient to go places. The breakfast and coffee here also good. A lovely place to stay.

Great location close to metro Da’an station, nice cafe, snacks and tea in the common “mini bar” area, friendly reception staff.
We arrived at the hotel several hours before the check-in time so they let us store our luggage. When we checked in later, we were happy to hear that they had already placed our bags in the room.
I am sorry to say that:
The room had not been properly swept. There were strands of hair on the floor in several places. There was water left in the kettle from a previous guest. (Not really an issue as hot water is available in the mini bar area but goes to show the lack of attention to detail in housekeeping.) A small unidentifiable remnant was stuck to one of the bath towels.
We had actually stayed here 6 years ago and had been extremely satisfied with the entire stay and decided to come back. This time we were deeply disappointed that the standards for cleanliness had declined. As previous reviews had not mentioned this as a problem, perhaps our experience was an unfortunate exception. But since cleanliness is one of the factors on which travelers evaluate hotels, I felt that it was appropriate to address this concern.
