Terrific experience. The hotel seemed recently renovated. Certainly, it was clean and up-to-date. We really liked our room - it had a small terrace (essentially, part of the roof on the east-facing side of the hotel). It made our space seem larger, gave us a discreet place to dry our beach stuff,, and made mornings just beautiful. (The room has heavy curtains to keep light out, if one wants them.) No air-conditioning, but the (I believe, ceiling) fan worked really well to keep the room comfortable during the hot days we had there. It also helped that we had big terrace windows to let air in.
Breakfast was good and we ended up taking a number of meals at the hotel. The large terrace is very inviting. The reception and restaurant staff were generally very welcoming and nice, including to someone whose conversational German isn't particularly strong. The location is calm - certainly in comparison with neighboring Meersburg! - and the park developed along the lakefront (and right across the street from the hotel) offers a nice beach, a little harbor, and a great place to watch the sun set on the Alps.
The cycling accommodations were also very good. The hotel has a large, secure room that is easy to get bikes in and out of.

Everything super clean
Sadly, the pictures provided on Booking, are very misleading: While, in some pictures of the supposedly same category, there seems to be an extra space with a sofa, the reality of the room we received, was much different: The room was very small, especially the bathroom. All beautifully and newly renovated, but simply not enough space. We aren't even very large people but the bathroom was so small, that there basically wasn't enough room to comfortably sit on the toilet. Probably because of that, the toilet-seat was very loose. Reception closes down in the evening and nobody was available when we noticed the problem, so my husband had to try to fix it himself so we could even use the toilet - Not something one hopes to do in a hotel room...
When we mentioned this problem in the morning, the receptionist's only response was: Housecleaning is supposed to alert us to that - Well, that certainly didn't help us after the fact. Bathroom is cute but apparently never was put to the test, as the sink is so small that, no matter how softly the water is turned on, it will inevitably spill all over everything. Bathroom also only comes with one single hook for hanging towels! How is that supposed to work in a room for two people? The room might actually work for a single person, but definitely not for two!
Small side note: Room was advertised with garden/city view, but we ended up with a view of a gravel rooftop (tiny porch) - depressing and also no real vacation vibes, but could so easily be fixed with a planter and some flowers...
We would have wished for more transparency on the size of room before booking and certainly more reaction to our complaints and suggestions. We cannot be the only people who have had these problems.
Would have liked to give a better rating as the hotel is in a great spot and very clean and nicely renovated, but, the bathrooms are just way too small and badly alocated, for this to provide a relaxing stay.
