The hotel has some definite positives. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the desserts during the breakfast and dinner were very good.
The biggest issue was that half-board was mandatory, even though the quality of the evening food was not particularly good. There is a one-time entitlement to eat at one of the hotel’s special restaurants, and that experience was actually very good, which made the contrast with the regular dinner even more noticeable.
Some of the hotel’s policies also felt unnecessarily restrictive. Ironing costs €10 per dress, and, surprisingly, they refused to deliver the ironed clothes to the room. During dinner, even something as basic as tap water comes with an additional charge.
The shower is quite small, and there is no effective stopper or barrier to prevent water from getting out, so the bathroom floor gets wet easily.
Finally, the hotel is a massive complex. While it has plenty of facilities, it lacks the intimate atmosphere and authentic Greek feeling that you can get at smaller boutique hotels. For us, this was an important part of the experience, and the large resort-style setup felt more generic.
