Matilda Boutique Hotel is perfectly located in the heart of Hanoi's Old Quarter — everything is walkable, the streets are vibrant, and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd want from a first Hanoi experience.
Our room was neat, clean, and well-maintained with a lovely balcony — a great spot to sit with a morning coffee and watch the city come alive. Exactly what we needed after a long flight.
But the real highlight of our stay was the staff. Genuinely warm, helpful, and attentive — the kind of hospitality that elevates a good hotel into a memorable one.
A special mention for Mr. Phu, who truly went above and beyond. When we approached him for help with our day tours, he didn't just book them — he took the time to understand exactly what we were looking for, arranged a brilliant Lan Ha Bay cruise and a Ninh Binh full day tour that were both perfectly executed. Beyond the tours, his local knowledge was invaluable — restaurant recommendations, what to see, where to go, hidden gems around the Old Quarter. He gave us the kind of tips you'd only get from someone who genuinely loves the city.
The breakfast is decent and covers the basics, though we felt the spread could be a little more varied

Location, walking distance to everything!
Room with no windows, felt very claustrophobic and no fresh air. Plus we were upstairs from the restaurant, so very noisy in the morning.

The location was the best. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was lovely :)
