It was calm and relaxing, staff couldn’t do enough for you. Food and massages were fabulous.
Require a taxi to get into candidasa and as they are doing work on the beach to make it more accessible and to provide abit more of a beach. The diggers were starting work at 5.30am lifting boulders, they stopped mid morning. But this is short term.

If you are looking for a calm place far away from the touristic and loud spots, this is your place!
It is a bit far away from the airport (approx 2 hours by taxi) and the last street is dusty and dark, so we didn't have the best impression at first, but it was overwhelmingly better than we could have expected: The food, the cleanliness, the rooms, the state of the pool, the lobby, the sea view. There is no beach at the hotel, but this is not a problem at all: on the contrary it means peace and silence.
As a family with children we went walking to the local supermarket (~7 mins away) where we found the basics and got to know the real Bali. Everything was safe!
We love the Balinese afternoons where we could discover the local food and desserts, as well as the music and dance.
The massages were done in a very professional way, the tours (nearby beaches, Ubud, Denpasar, everything is possible and safe) were well organised with trusted drivers, and the yoga classes remained in our minds as a beautiful memory thanks to the views, the sound and especially the teacher. There is even a small fitness studio with a/c.
The evenings with live music were a great surprise. The singer/musician is amazing.
The staff was kind, attentive and helpful. We felt genuinely welcomed and very well cared for. A special thank you to the whole team.

We are already looking forward to coming back.
We wouldnt go back to the turistic spots in Ubud, where we just lost the time that could have been beautifully spent at the hotel or diving. No the hotels fault, by the way.

Property itself is good, rooms are not bad, design is nice, it has a great yard , garden and pool next to the ocean and you can hear the waves sound always everywhere around the property
But please dont waste your money on this place if you are young and wanto enjoy the bali night life and city as its way way way far (2 hrs drive) from everywhere.
Hotel location is end of the world the grab does not work there and local taxi charge you 600k rupi($50 aud) to take you somewhere like changu
