Philip and Sandra made us very welcome and comfortable. They were very friendly and informative about the area and gave us an excellent breakfast. Will definitely stay again in their lovely home.

If you want to stay in a modern, air-conditioned high-rise building in downton Cape Town... this is not the place for your. If you prefer a beautiful house, friendly hosts and calm neighborhood, you should choose Brooklands House!
Sandra and Phillip (and the cute dog) are super-friendly owners, open for a chat and information. You can use the garden and veranda, both are - as the whole house - quite English and give a special flavor to the B&B - in a positive sense. Communication before arrival was excellent, including a pre-booked transport from Cape Town Airport (which is about 15 minutes by car/Uber, but beware of rush hours!).
What really has been an add-on: the neighborhood is safe, lots of well-maintained houses. In 10 minutes walk you find a range of small restaurants (Novo Pizza!), also catering for the University people. Going the other direction, you come to Rosebank Station on the Metrorail, which Southern Line is easy to take either to Central Cape Town (15 minutes) or you can go south on the eastern side of the peninsula (Fish Hoek, ca 1 hour or even Simons Town). Station and train are really safe, lots of security staff around. (But don't rely on timetables...).
There are some downsides due to the historical house and B&B: no a/c, a somewhat smaller room (yet a big bathroom), no huge breakfast buffet, not a central location in Cape Town. But for us, the choice was right and we would come again!
