The convenience and comfort of having a place for ourselves during 8 nights. That's the second time staying at a Machya and I think it's the best option for a long-stay. Location is pretty good, 5min walk to a small fresco and a family mart. Walking distance to train stations and 40min on foot to Gion.
Very clean upon our arrival, but got very dusty during the stay (had to vacuum a couple of times, since sleeping on the floor). Skylights gave the house a nice atmosphere, but in conjunction with the lack of proper blackout in the windows, made it very hard to wake up past 5am.

Location was great, a bit of walking to train station, but its worth it, because it calm neighbourhood, and a house! Very nice layout, big spacious compared to Japan standards. Very well equipped. Super appartment.
