The property was convenient as we were visiting friends in the area.
The hotel looked a bit tired - overdue a refresh. The staff were not the friendliest, we arrived with 2 large suitcases which the receptionist saw us manoeuvre at check in. She watched my husband drag them up a very steep flight of stairs to the room, only for us to find out when we arrived at the top that we could have taken the elevator. The water in the bathroom smelt terrible, like it came from lead pipes.

Breakfast was good. Would have loved some eggs though. There is good public parking behind the hotel. There are many restaurants nearby. The staff was very nice and helpful.

The building itself is nice, personnel was friendly, cozy atmosphere, breakfast was excellent and the beds are great. The hotel is near the town center which had a nice pub.
Although the room itself was good, there were some silly things that I would fix right away if I was the owner. For instance, one of the windows couldn't be opened properly and both the curtains either didn't work (pull up system broken) or worked only halfway. It's just a minor thing, but it annoyed me a bit, as I couldn't have the curtains open.
In the morning, the shower didn't have any hot water for over 5 minutes. After that the shower was great! But I could easily imagine guests not waiting more than 5 minutes.

Breakfast was good.
Room was clean.
We had a very noisy room facing the street, despite specifically requesting a quiet room.
There was no air conditioning in the room, and it was very warm, so we had to sleep with the window open. The traffic noise kept us awake throughout the night.
The staff did not inform us that there was no night receptionist or explain how to get back into the hotel after hours. When we returned around 11 p.m., it took us a while to figure out how to get in. It was not the end of the world, but this should be clearly communicated to guests.
