Location: Good and quiet. Within a 20–30 minute walk you can reach Notre Dame, the Louvre, and the Saint‑Germain district.
Rooms are as expected in Paris—small and tight, but better than many other hotels. At least we had enough space to place our luggage. Sleep comfort was good, and the ambient temperature was fine. There was a welcome bottle of wine, which we appreciated. A kettle was available for tea/coffee.
Staff were helpful, with nice people at reception.
Breakfast could be improved, but overall it was decent.
If you arrive late (but still within breakfast hours), cheese and ham platters may be empty, and croissants may be finished without being replenished, so you have to eat whatever is left.
It is good to have a lift in such an old building; however, it was outdated, so you had to wait a long time. There were no indicators showing whether it was busy, on standby, or which floor it was on. As a result, you had to press the button several times and sometimes wait up to 7–8 minutes.

We had a very pleasant stay at Castex Hotel. The location is truly a big advantage – it’s within walking distance of many of Paris’s main attractions, making it easy to get around without much planning.
The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, which really contributed to a positive experience. The room was perfectly OK for the price and met our expectations.
One thing we especially appreciated was the surrounding area. It felt genuine and lively, with many restaurants and pubs frequented mostly by locals rather than tourists. This gave us a more authentic Paris experience and made the evenings particularly enjoyable.
The room was on the smaller side, but we had been informed of this in advance, so it wasn’t a surprise. However, it did get quite warm in the room at night, which affected the comfort somewhat.
Overall, a good stay with ok value for money, especially thanks to the location and the friendly staff.
