The location and views are stunning and the buildings themselves are beautiful inside and out. The bedroom was spacious with a very comfortable big bed with lovely bed linen. Covered parking helped during exceptionally hot weather. The bedroom tv worked perfectly and the terrace was spacious with fabulous views. The lift was useful on check in and out with the bags.
There was a fudge in the room for our own use
The bathrooms are very dated and the over bath shower was a bit pathetic. Basins have old fashioned twin taps. The bathrooms really need a total refit with large walk in showers and mixer taps to the basins. We been visiting the hotel for over 25 years with no evident upgrades since the start.
There was no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. When we requested a pot of tea we were given a kettle. We had taken our own tea & coffee. Either one or the other is necessary.
The staff were sometimes excellent and at other times scarce or a bit unhelpful. It felt somewhat understaffed, with nobody serving in the bar in the evening.
Breakfast seemingly was provisioned at 7am so if you arrived after 9am some options were gone. Requests to replenish scrambled eggs for example were granted but not proactively monitored.
Restaurant menu didn’t change at all during our 5 day stay which was somewhat disappointing.
The outdoor furniture on our terrace was not very comfortable and could be improved. Please…..

Beautiful building and pool area
Obviously height of restoration 1990s, showing signs of unrepaired , broken areas now .
Views spectacular from some areas of the property .
Middle aged all male front facing staff . As a female , I felt very uncomfortable- not only how they made me feel , but the bullying/ arrogant bei attitude to the one lovely junior waitress .
Terraces on bedrooms not private as hedges dead / dying
