We booked the King Charles suite. Wonderful room in period property. Sunday lunch also very good. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast.

Perfectly placed in the centre of town this ancient hotel is a beautiful place to stay. All the rooms are modern, clean and very comfortable. There are very comfortable areas to sit and a bar staffed by the one very busy staff member on duty. Breakfast was delicious.

The shower curtain is a little tricky in the large bath. The hotel only does evening meals from Wed to Sat and a decent meal was difficult to find in Southwell on a Monday night.

Breakfast and garden area

Dated bedrooms, shower didn’t work in bedroom. Booked dinner for 19.45 told at 19.15 that they stopped serving evenings meals since 1st September so had to walk half mile up the road to luckily get dinner.
