Staff very welcoming and helpful. Facilities as expected & hotel is clean. Hotel may want to add dish soap and sponge for unit with kitchen facility.
Distance to the main area like Gran Via shopping area, plaza del sol and plaza mayor a little far from what I expected. Elderly may find it far and tiring as there is slight slope heading to the hotel. No issue for youngsters, fit or avid travellers, or people used walking as primary mode of commuting daily. Despite the hotel located 3 mins walking from the metro station, the metro stations across madrid have lots of stairs to reach its platforms and every exit, and most of them are not accompanied by esclatators or lifts.

Location was great. Shower excellent and lots of hot water. Frequent lifts (we were on the 5th floor). Very helpful staff. Nice linen and towels. Room had a safe.
No A/C. They said it would be switched on “later in the year”. Although it wasn’t hot when we were there, the temperature was due to go up to 26° the following week and even at 17° the room got very hot and stuffy. The double glazed windows did open but it was too noisy to keep them open at night.
WiFi was a bit weak - wouldn’t load in iPad though iPhones ok.
