Lovely rooms, great ambiance, friendly staff. The lobby lounge is abdolutely beautiful- coffee& tea available throughout the stay.The location is perfect just next to the church. The breakfast was beautifully set up with delicious, local ingredients.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Onni in Porvoo. The hotel itself is part of the experience—a beautiful historic building dating from the late 1700s that was originally a private home and was thoughtfully converted into a hotel about 20 years ago. It has retained so much of its charm and character.
Our rooms were very comfortable, and we especially loved the lovely parlour. It was a wonderful place to sit, relax, and meet and talk with other guests, giving the hotel a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was exceptionally friendly and made us feel very much at home.
The location was also perfect for us, within easy walking distance of Porvoo’s beautiful Old Town and its shops, restaurants, and historic streets.
Hotel Onni has the intimacy and personality that you simply don’t find in a large modern hotel. If you appreciate history, character, a welcoming atmosphere, and a great location for exploring Porvoo, this is a wonderful place to stay. We would happily return.
There was one aspect of our arrival that could be improved. The entrance to the hotel was surprisingly difficult to identify. There was a wooden plaque indicating “Reception,” but the lettering was so faded that it was almost illegible. We tried calling the front desk for help finding the entrance, but no one answered. Once we were inside, we understood why: the receptionist was also responsible for preparing rooms for arriving guests. She was very friendly and helpful when we did meet her, but having one person responsible for both reception and room preparation can make it difficult for arriving guests to get assistance when they need it. A clearly marked entrance and more visible reception sign would make a significant difference.
That issue aside, Hotel Onni has the intimacy and personality that you simply don’t find in a large modern hotel. We loved its history, its comfortable rooms, the welcoming parlour, the friendly staff, and its wonderful location. With a few small improvements to the arrival experience, it would be even better. We would happily stay here again.

- we booked the Suite which could host our family of four, beautifully decorated, large and very comfortable
- modern and large bathroom with bathtub and shower, very clean
- we could park our car on site easily, very convenient
- location was good, facing the Porvoo Cathedral and only 5-10 min walk from old square
- the main building with the rooms is historical and beautifully decorated
- breakfast was good
- there is a restaurant on site with a terrace : we did not try it but food looked good.
Minor comments, not too significant :
- the breakfast was served at the table, it was not a buffet, because there are only 5 rooms. It was good, but just saying it was not a buffet ... no problem for us.
- time for start of breakfast was a bit late, from 9am on, but we understood the hotel can organise earlier breakfast to take away so it is ok
- the suite was beautiful and comfortable, it is just set in the middle of the garden in front of the main building so people in the garden could look towards the suite through the windows. We did not have any problem with that but if you want more privacy, it is better to chose a normal room in the main historical building.
