We booked the private pool room for a special occasion and thought it was great value. The room was large with everything you could want - a secluded pool area, amazing view and modern decor. The food at the onsite restaurant was great and they helped me arrange a small dessert with a message written on the plate for my partners birthday. We could get breakfast delivered to our room too which was a nice touch.
The location is great for the white temple, about a 15 minute walk, but they also offer a free shuttle which we opted for given it was raining during our stay.
There were a few minor details that I think would make this place a 10:
- there weren’t any pool towels for our private pool (not sure if they were available for the shared pool) so it made the floor very wet when we came inside
- the shower didn’t have the main shower head, just the handheld one that’s detachable from the wall. This was at an inconvenient height for me so I had to either crouch under it or hold it while showering
- the breakfast options were limited and I would’ve much preferred being able to choose from the coffee shop breakfast menu
- there was a separate bath and shower but only one bathmat so the floor ended up very wet and slippy
- I’d read about the bikes and peddle boats in other reviews and thought about using them but both looked a little run down during our stay

We absolutely loved our stay at Doowall Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the property, atmosphere, and hospitality exceeded our expectations. The hotel is beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing, making it one of our favorite stays during our trip.
The staff were truly amazing — warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout our entire stay. Their hospitality made such a difference and made us feel completely at home.
We enjoyed our experience so much that we decided to extend our stay by an additional night because we simply did not want to leave. That alone says everything about how much we loved this hotel.
This is absolutely a hotel we will return to in the future, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
The only small improvement I would suggest is that the rooms with private pools would feel even more luxurious if they included pool loungers instead of the standard outdoor table and chairs setup.

It was set in some very nice grounds with Ricefield around you quiet.
Food was very good, staff were friend me
For me, the location was a little bit too far from the main town.
You constantly needed a taxi or your own transport to travel the 25 minute journey. You felt a little isolated.

Coffee - one of the best coffees in Chiang Rai.
The property isn’t well maintained. There’s rust in many areas. Algae around pool area and a lot more issues.
