Big room which is clean. The Wiang Inn is very safe, has ample parking, and is situated in the middle of Chiang Rai town which provides easy walking access to shops, convenience stores, and the day/night markets. We have stayed here several years ago, so it is a familiar place. As always, their aircon and hot-water is very reliable here.
Wiang Inn today is a shadow of its much grander past. The rooms look exactly the same as what they were 10 years ago, which is nice for nostalgia but badly needs an update with dated colours and peeling wallpaper. Perhaps due to the lack of guests, the breakfast buffet this time was not up to the standards that I recalled from my previous visits. Unfortunately, many of the good shops in the immediate vicinity have also closed down or moved out, to be replaced by massage parlours and cannabis shops.
