Lovely stay uphill in Nuwara Eliya

Beautiful place, beautiful people

The hosts are wonderful and I loved depending time with the whole family. They helped me organise a hike, tour of the tea factories and waterfalls, and transport. The breakfast and dinner were delicious and the view over the town was beautiful. 100% recommend!

Perfect

Silent place . rooms are very clean . There is a shortcut between la rose and village . it takes only few minutes to nuwaraeliya city. I like la rose owner (aunty) . she is Very kind .This is the 2nd time we stayed that place . when we back again nuwaraeliya we hope to stay la rose more days.

La ubicación, muy lejos del centro, habitación con moqueta sucia, dos camas había en la habitación, una de ellas sin sábanas ni manta , estaba sin hacery allí hace frío, la otra cama sábanas cortas, baño pesimo y no hay wifi cuando se dice que lo hay

Great stay in a local guesthouse

We had an awesome time. The owner was kind and attentive. We had the chance to experience staying in a local house and talk with the host about many things learning a lot about culture and traditions. The guesthouse is situated in a privileged place with great views. We had a great breakfast in the morning. Totally recommend the stay.

Need new professional staff, not enough parking, no wifi @ the location, no iron at the location, no flat screen tv at the location, as described in booking.com. The host said we can use the kitchen as we wish, but she doesn't like any other use of the kitchen(if we use the kitchen host it has a lot of rules).

Pleasant home stay with great views

La Rose Home Stay is well located with beautiful views and a 10 minute short-cut walk to the town. The owner is ready to assist and speaks English well. She did our laundry for an additional fee. Wifi was excellent - a rarity in Sir Lanka! Balcony was really nice to sit and relax with the view (just beware of the monkeys!) Good value overall.

Since it is a home stay, the owner's presence was quite prominent throughout our stay, giving less of a private and laid back feeling at times. She also spoke quite a lot about money, which was good as to be upfront about costs etc. but the lengthy nature of it got tiring after a while. Overall she means well, though.

True Homestay

super clean. Room with a view of town was nice. Hot shower. Bed was so comfy and clean, and warm ( it can be cold in this town) Nice host, it was like staying at home. you can use the kitchen or Anu the host can cook for you. There’s a shortcut you can take to walk from town.

Felt like home

The room was comfortable, cozy and very clean. the views from the terrace are amazing. The lady was lovely and made us an amazing veggie dinner. Best we had in Sri Lanka so far. She was also very helpful arranging transport for us. We would recommend 100%

Last minute, we had a best stay

Staff is so friendly, she was helping us for everything she could do. She reseved rooms for the last minute.

Nice place to stay

Our stay in La Rose was very good. Nice room with a balcony and nice view of Nuwara Eliya, it was clean and comfortable bed also. We could also use the kitchen wherever we want.

The lady was super nice, friendly and helpful, but all the time in our stay there she was talking about Sri Lanka problems and values of everything, what made us a bit uncomfortable. The location ever with the shortcut is not that close from the town. The shower wasn't hot also for a cold day we had there.

neither far nor near the city with an awesome host

when i go to a homestay on my travels i always expect it to be like visiting a distant relation, here we had to experience that in first hand, owner is a nice not so old lady and she was like our aunt from distant!!! didnt had the chance to taste her food but im positive that must be exceptional since she is so much experienced in the hospitality industry, place was very homely and when you pick the rooms go for the two with city view, its neither far nor near the city so in my opinion the perfect place to stay closer to the city, if you want food ask aunty before hand, and shes very concerned about her property, like i said shes your aunt from distant!!!

Super friendly host! She made a lovely diner and breakfast for us. The room was spacious with a nice view and balcony. We could park our tuktuk. Also very strong wifi.

Very warm and nice hostess! :) The location is really great to get away from the city noise and have a beautiful view over it. And even though it's out of the way, the hostess will show you a shortcut to town, so it's definitely worth the walk. We can definitely recommend the homestay! :)

stay here you won’t regret it!

everything was amazing, please just book and stay here, you won’t regret it. property is located on a hill with stunning views, (only a 10 minute walk to town through shortcut) the house is large and spacious and room was cool and very clean, sheets smelt very fresh. host was so kind and helpful, gave us great advise. breakfast isn’t available to you are able to use the kitchen so we got some bread and avocado and she helped us prepare this in the morning. tea and coffee available on request. bed was very comfy, and there were no power-outages. I honestly felt like I was at home, it was so comforting, such a great stay!

Run by a lovely friendly lady, who let us use her kettle/toaster. Also helped organise some day trips. There was also a little terrace outside with a nice view. Walking distance to town.

The room didn't ventilate that well so sometimes felt a bit stuffy but it was always fine once you opened the door.

The aunty is very welcoming. The place is very clean. Parking is available for free . Only thing which i dont like is we can't make noise, that means, we can't talk loudly, can't listen to musiq, even if the room door is closed is audible outside.

Friendly homestay property on the hill overlooking Nuwara Eliya with a beautiful view over the town. Tasty breakfast, tea provided through day on request. It was a great peaceful place for me to work, while still being only a relatively short walk from Nuwara Eliya town. Good WiFi. Thankyou for the great hospitality.

Amazing homestay, the best I've been to in a month in Sri Lanka! Annu is the loveliest host and cooked me dinner and helped with any questions about the town. Bathroom was super clean and really comfy beds. A must go when in Nuwara Eliya!!!
