Felt more like a truck stop than a place for a traveling pilgrim

The warm, friendly welcome from the lovely man behind the bar was just what I needed after a long day on the Camino. The room was clean and comfortable with lots of hot water.
It was all great. Others have complained about the location but that's probably their fault for not checking it. There's a bar and restaurant downstairs which looked good and busy and a gas station next door with a small shop, so everything you need is here.

Hostal Alto Páramo – Stay from December 8–9
Rating: Satisfactorio
I stayed at Hostal Alto Páramo for one night, and overall the experience was satisfactory. The room was clean and adequate for a short stay, and the check-in process was straightforward.
One important detail to keep in mind is the location.
A decent option for a simple overnight stop, especially if proximity to town is not a priority.
The hostal is quite far from the town center, which can be inconvenient if you’re hoping to explore Villadangos del Paramo or Astorga, or access restaurants and services without driving. Because of this, it’s better suited for travelers passing through or those who don’t mind the distance.

We’ve always liked alto paramo. However, during the recent heat wave. There was no fan, no ac the heat in the room was oppressive. Buy some fans and place them into the rooms so those in the rooms don’t suffer needlessly
