About this bed and breakfast
You are booking a guest room in our home. This is not a whole house/apartment rental. We are an American husband and Chinese wife. Our home is located on Puget Sound with extraordinary views of Commencement Bay, Vashon and Maury Islands. Browns Point Lighthouse Park is just a few minutes away. Other local attractions are Dash Point State Park, Redondo waterfront community, Point Defiance Park & Zoo, and the Point Ruston waterfront community.
Note that breakfast is a 'continental breakfast', is self-serve, and you need to request it in advance. Continental breakfast means breakfast bread (something like bagels, English muffin, croissant, etc.), coffee, and juice. We also usually have fruit, and eggs if you're inclined to cook a hot breakfast.
The Queen Bedroom is located on the upper floor. Guests have exclusive access to the bathroom, which has a double sink/vanity and shower with three shower heads (one rainshower head), and body jets.
The pool is open June 1 - September 30. The spa/jacuzzi can heated on demand all year; there is a $25 charge to offset the cost of the gas needed to heat it off season (October - May). It may take up to 90 minutes to come up to temp, depending on the weather. There is a 10PM curfew for all shared spaces (spa/jacuzzi, gym and theatre room).

Steve and Li are the most gracious hosts we’ve had the pleasure of meeting! Their home is beautiful, with a gorgeous view of the Sound, and is situated in a lovely (and quiet) neighborhood, well-suited for leisurely jogs/walks. They were incredibly generous of their time and hospitality, and were welcoming from the moment we arrived!The accommodations were perfect for our needs (traveling as couple and in town for college graduation): comfortable bedroom with spacious bathroom/walk-in shower located conveniently nearby. The home theater is terrific too — both the TV there and in the bedroom are set for screencasting, so it’s easy to log in with any streaming apps you have.The home is an easy (and fairly short) drive to downtown Tacoma, as well as eastward to Federal Way, which has all you’d need for retail, if needed (gym, grocery, shopping, etc.). It’s easy to get onto I-5, so jaunts to Seattle, south Tacoma (e.g., Parkland, Lakewood) or headed south to Portland are easy. There are restaurants nearby too (we enjoyed the Cliff House), as well as a smaller local grocery store.The pool and hot tub are a great amenity as well. We visited in May, just prior to the weather being warm enough for the main pool to be in operation, but the hot tub was outstanding, and perfect for the two of us at the end of a busy day. The pool deck is also perfect for enjoying the sun and spectacular view.We had an unforgettable stay and recommend very highly! Thanks, Steve & Li!

My husband and son were staying at this property because my son had a basketball tournament the weekend of the stay. They slept at the house and used the bathroom to shower and stuff. They didn’t receive breakfast (which was listed as an amenity and since I’m the Mom I thought it would be helpful to have because I was not going to be there). The space was in the basement. But like I said the space worked for the purpose of the trip. Comments from my husband and son were “it wasn’t a place to go and have somewhere to hang out, it’s a good place for having somewhere to sleep”.
