Rooms are very nice and quiet location. Friendly staff
The rooftop is nice but the transparent roof made it practically into a greenhouse, super hot, completely nonsense because the view is amazing and it looks nice.
Also not a single fan was working and the coffee machine too (probably they did not want to turn it on and clean it, we were the only hosts in low season).
Without telling us the staff prepared us an English breakfast, which we (Italians) do not like at all. But staff was very friendly and ask what we wanted for the next breakfast.

Had a wonderful stay at The Scenic Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious, and the room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. The AC and Wi-Fi worked perfectly, making the stay even more relaxing. Great value for money and highly recommended for a peaceful getaway 💯

My stay at Scenic Bay was very enjoyable. The rooms were modern, clean, and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and always ready to help. The rooftop restaurant is a highlight with amazing views and tasty food. It’s just a short walk to the beach, We came with a group of friends, and upon our request, the hotel kindly arranged rooms close to each other. The staff were very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. We truly appreciated their kindness and had a great stay.

The breakfast is really good - rooftop bar looks nice and you can select the food of a given breakfast menu. It‘s always fresh and hot, tasty and looking great. The area in weligama is nice - though you need to at least walk for 15 minutes to get to the „center“ and nice beach.
Although tea and some coffee is included, americano and cappuccino needs to be ordered and payed for 1100 lkr each including service charge. And although the breakfast tastes amazing and is fresh, waiting 45 minutes to an hour is really too long.
The room was clean but a bit old. The bathroom was super dark and didn‘t smell too fresh. We exchanged the towels as they were not smelling fresh and the new set didn‘t either. We got rid of the floor towel which freshened up the smell a bit. Also when cleaning the room, they folded the used and damp towels so they weren‘t fully dry in the evening which worsened the smell and we didn‘t know whose towel was whose anymore.
We had the room directly next to the reception which was at some times a bit noisy - but not any problem during night time. The balcony was looking directly at a little construction site where people were working all day, so we had our curtains closed during most of our stay …
All in all it didn‘t meet the expectations we had after reading all the amazing reviews but with minor improvements the stay would have been much better.
