About this house rental
Nestled in Portsmouth, this lovely house for $345 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Enjoy the comforts of staying in a charming waterfront cottage on the beautiful Narragansett Bay. With views of Prudence Island, Bristol, and the Mount Hope Bridge our guests are sure to spend the day feeling at home in one of the most gorgeous locations on Aquidneck Island. This is the perfect house for a couple or small family to enjoy the wonders of coastal living. You are sure to feel relaxed in our quaint and quiet cottage. If you choose to venture out to explore beautiful Rhode Island for the day, Newport is a short 20 min drive and Providence is a 40 minute drive (just make sure to return in time for the breath-taking sunset perfectly seen from our bay side deck).

The location is beautiful and tranquil. The view from the livingroom and deck is surpassed only by the view from the Adirondack chairs in the back yard.
Constructive comments from previous reviews on this cottage have all been addressed exactly as the owner's response implies. This indicates a host who is working to make a welcoming environment and it shows. The home is well stocked for cooking, though there are plenty of restaurants within a reasonable drive. There is a generous library with a wide variety of reference material to peruse. The king bed was very comfortable. The bay windows have indeed had screens added and the bathroom is updated and very clean. A previous review mentioned some stains on the carpeting, but the size and quantity were not sloppy or off-putting but instead indicate general use. One item of note, the bedroom was a little stuffy. The windows were hard to open, so we didn't and instead just used the AC on the fan setting and it was fine. Directions for entry and cleanup were clear and not laborious. This was a great trip and the hosts attention to detail made that possible.

My husband and 7 month old daughter reallt enjoyed our little get away here. The house was nice and clean, and the sceneray in the backyard is absolutely beautiful! We can’t wait to come back in the future.

We loved this cottage! If you are looking for a small, quiet, private place to get away, this is the one.
Best points:
- Amazing views, sun set right over an almost 180 degree view of the water, boats and birds, a lighthouse and the Mount Hope Bridge.
- Walk right out to the water from the stairs.
- Everything you need is in the cottage, and major shopping areas are only a few minutes drive if necessary. Newport 30 min, Providence 40 min.
- Seriously comfortable king bed. There is also a twin out in a separate room that overlooks the bay.
- Air conditioners in both the living room and the bedroom worked very well, we were not hot at all.
- Water pressure in the bathroom shower was great, there were plenty of clean towels.
There are only two things I would change about the trip:
1. The road to access the cottage is an old beach access road. Gavin did warn us that that it's pretty bumpy before we got there, but man was I not prepared! An SUV is definitely recommended, a smaller car will bottom out in the giant holes in the road. At 8 months pregnant, it was a very uncomfortable road. This isn't completely on the owner though, it is a shared road, but that would be the first thing I would try to fix!
2. The windows in the living room do NOT have screens. We wanted to open the windows to hear the sounds of the bay but then the bugs were getting in so unfortunately we had to close them.
Overall, we would go back!

It was an amazing stay !!
The cottage was perfect and the views were spectacular.
It was quiet and secluded and everyday there was a treasure.
We wish we didn’t need to leave but certainly would return at the next opportunity.

We rented this darling cottage for our daughter and her 4 children. The location is just idyllic.

Very nice and clean. Great water view and very quiet neighborhood. Off the beaten path. Felt like a throw back to another time.
May not be the place to stay when it’s really cold out because couldn’t get the heat to work very well. But it was for the most part very comfortable.

We are so glad about our choice. Everything was perfect and the location is beautiful! The property was clean and the neighborhood was very quiet.
We stayed for two nights. On Saturday we had originally planned on heading to the beach but decided to just hang out on the deck and take a dip in the water. It couldn't have been a more perfect day! We will definitely be looking at booking again! Gavin, the owner was wonderful to work with and responded to my questions quickly. He even left us some complimentary chilled beverages to enjoy which were wonderful after a long day at graduation. That was the perfect touch!

Beautifully situated on water, house ok
Situated right on a beautiful ocean bay, you can watch magnificent sunsets right from the deck or small lawn area bordering the water. The neighborhood is lovely and we very much enjoyed crossing the bridge to Bristol for dinner (10 min.), especially liked the Bristol Oyster bar. The owners were helpful and responsive. The bed/bedding were comfortable and the bathroom is new.
There was plenty of space but the house itself is drab and dreary, in spite of the glorious water views. The windows couldn’t be opened and the air felt stale (there were window ac units but it wasn’t hot). There was a lot of carpeting that was stained…or indoor/outdoor type.
With some work, I’m sure this house will be a stunner.

Perfect weekend getaway
This hidden gem right on the water was even better than we had expected! Briana and Gavin were great hosts and very communicative in the time leading up to our booking. The bathroom was well stocked with any cosmetics you may have missed in your packing and the place feels even more spacious than it appears in the pictures. Cannot say enough great things about the location. Settled directly on the water, we most often found ourselves hanging out on the back porch for coffee at sunrise, sunbathing in the yard, and taking in the good weather and beautiful views. We will definitely be back!

Ideal location and Fantastic water views
We could not have been more pleased with our first stay at this wonderful cottage! During our stay we visited Newport, Narragansett (wonderful beach and nightlife), little Compton, Bristol…and then we got to come home to this quiet oasis and enjoy gorgeous sunsets! Even at night the views are lovely with the bridge lit up in the distance. There are many wonderful restaurants in the area but we often chose to bring our food home and enjoy the best views around!
Brianna was an excellent host- she was always available for any needs or questions and provided everything we needed and more!
We hope to vacation there again!
