Loved the location, right on the river Esk and next to the train station. Cottage was clean and had everything you would need for your stay. Loved sitting watching the kingfishers flying up and down the ducks and squirrels..nice walk up through the tunnel to the train sheds. Very quiet and calm. Milk left for us on arrival. Beds made lots of towels. Dogs welcome
Carpet in bathroom, carpeted living room not great for dog friendly cottage. The rails on balcony not good for very small dogs had to put the wood basket in the doorway to stop ours getting stuck in the rails. No tea, coffee or sugar on arrival even though milk was left in fridge. Parking wasn't good as the cottage next door kept asking us to move over. Very tight and we only have a small fiesta. If we had a bigger car it would have been very awkward. Tin opener needs replacing. Beds not big only double made sleeping uncomfortable.

Excellent location over looking the river & close to the station. The property was clean and comfortable.
Nothing, I would only point out the village shop closes at 4.30pm so bring all you require for the first night. Also, be aware that the cottage is at the end of a 600m access with no turning circle.

The location was amazing, quiet & the water running by the house was extremely therapeutic. The facilities were great & the house seemed to be fully stocked with all the necessities.
Everything was great, the only thing I think I needed was an air dryer for clothing, this would be a brilliant add on for jumpers and such.

The location of the cottage is great. Grosmont is lovely. As well as the trains (of course) we loved the station cafe, the cafe near the tunnel and the community pub. Food in the hotel was nice too. The river was great for spotting wildlife - kingfishers, dippers etc. We found the bedrooms comfy.
The parking isn't easy but there's nothing the owners can do about that. We reversed out with no trouble, but I can see that people could have a problem with this.
The carpet in the bathroom is a huge negative. Very unhygienic. Unfortunately this overshadowed all the positives for us. I wouldn't stay in this property again due to this.
