Took a sister trip here. We loved the garden, the community area and the breakfast. The room was sweet and the bed was comfy. The staff was welcoming.
The heat did not work in our room. Thank goodness it was not to cold. Also the water in the shower kept going hot then cold while I was in the shower.

Kameron was a great host. The staff is very friendly. The place is really nice. Breakfast is the hotel's strong point, just as I had read in the reviews. The place is very quiet.
The mattress was comfortable, but the springs made a bit of noise. Big Bear Lake is very nice, but we had rainy days, and there is very little to do outdoors. The city's altitude causes headaches and dizziness.

The price seemed high for this bed and breakfast. The breakfast used to be excellent here, but the quality of the food and overall care seemed to have suffered. The friendliness seemed forced and honestly it was not very clean, more of a thourgh once over type of clean. there was a lot of dust. The decor shows the charm of the once loved B & B but everything else has suffered. The staff ( outside of the handyman) seems just not that happy to be there.
When I made a request about my bacon ( it was literally BLACK- burned) it was taken with an attitude of well that is the way it comes out sometimes! I was a bit taken back. THe other services have gone by the way side also even though the price still increases: no afternoon cookies, evening desserts...all the little touches that made this place great- the down home friendliness and pride it use to have seem more like a motel 6 with dressing these days.
Room was dusty and was just surfaced cleaned. Staff was okay but not great. Service was not worth the extra money of a B&B. Food was defintely left wanting ( canned fruit, burnt bacon,.... just not there.) All the little comforts this place had 10-15 years ago are gone...gone...gone.
