About this house rental
Nestled in Cambria, this lovely house for $383 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Enjoy unique ocean views over the meandering pines and rooftops of the West Village and ending at the incredible sea. The crisp sunset views over Moonstone Beach can be enjoyed with a glass of wine at the end of the day right from the living room, master bedroom or two decks of this home. This well-appointed home will not disappoint. The spacious layout ensures that everyone in your group will have plenty of space to relax in privacy or gather in the comfortable living and dining rooms together. The large master suite is on it's own level, it has a king-size bed, a full private bath with a soaking tub and a wood-burning fireplace. With it's own private deck to enjoy the ocean view, and smart TV, you'll have your own private retreat. The second bedroom is on the main level, it has a queen size bed, deck access and a smart TV. There is also a reclining chaise lounge to enjoy or use as an extra sleeping space for your little one. The third bedroom is actually it's own private "studio" above the two car garage. Connected to the main house through the garage or private outside entry, it has two twin beds, small private bath, smart TV and kitchenette. This studio space is up a narrow, steep flight of indoor stairs. The studio is very much part of the main home. The fully equipped kitchen is open to the dining room and living room, and has all the comforts of home. The large sectional couch in the living room is the perfect place to enjoy the wood burning fireplace or large smart TV. Wrap around deck with ocean views has a gas burning grill and outside dining table. Also on this level is a large laundry/ mudroom, the perfect place to unload after a day at the beach. Within walking distance to downtown shopping and restaurants, and less then a 5 minute drive to beach access. When you're ready to venture out and explore the beautiful Central Coast you will have many options close by. Hearst Castle and Hearst Winery, perched above the San Simeon Cove, are a short drive up the coast, and the famed Paso Robles wine country is a quick drive east. Charming San Luis Obispo is a 45-minute drive south and the Big Sur Coast is at your doorstep heading north. Cambria is the perfect starting off point for countless adventures.

We (mom, dad, 19yo daughter, 2 dogs) had a fantastic end-of-year getaway at the Hartford House! We've been coming to Cambria for 25 years and always stay in a vacation rental. We had never stayed in this part of town before. We loved the location! It was so great to be able to walk down the hill to coffee, shops, and restaurants. We even walked to Moonstone Beach and the boardwalk one morning and it was fantastic! Plus you could see the ocean from the great decks they have on the town-side of the house. There are A LOT of stairs in the house - especially if you're using the guest loft above the garage. Also, taking the dogs outside was always a bit of an adventure - especially for our older dog who kept slipping on the hardwood floors. She spent the whole vacation on the main level because she couldn't manage the stairs without falling. The fireplaces in the living room and main bedroom are great. Plus having TVs in the living room and both bedrooms was a nice touch. Kitchen was well equipped though we didn't do much cooking with all the great restaurants Cambria has to offer. (Especially Linn's for breakfast, lunch, and baked treats!) Couches and beds were comfortable - though the display on the sleep number bed remote in the main bedroom was broken so it took a little guesswork to get it adjusted. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed the vacation rental. Home nicely cleaned, plenty of room, kitchen well stocked. Played ping pong, took walks along Moonstone Beach, shopping and great restaurants. The home has many stairs so be prepared to go up and down stairs. We will rent again in the future.

This is a great house if you want to be very close to Main Street. We enjoyed that aspect -- a minute to Moonstone Beach, a couple minutes to the north bluff trail at Fiscalini Ranch Preserve. If you want to be on the ocean this is not the place as it is above town a couple of blocks. I thought the home coffee set up could be a little better, maybe a french press; and some condiments like sugar could have been useful. Finally they have a wonderful refrigerator but no ice maker. My brother and I enjoyed our stay very much.

Breen House was spacious and decorated very nicely. Everything was very clean. Four gals shared house so 4 beds were perfect. Didn't know "Guest house" was thru garage door and up steep flight of stairs but wasn't a problem. Nice surprise to find it had it's own kitchen as well as bathroom and the 2 of us who shared it loved the skylight. Didn't mind reusing towels but 2 per guest would have been nice (stay wasn't lng enough to do laundry) Overall, we were very pleased with Breen House and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Kitchen could have had a more varied selection of dinnerware ( some smaller glasses and stemware) Linen supplies n kitchen were just adequate. Dishwasher soap was inadequate. Some areas in kitchen needed more cleaning( corner lazy Susan cabinet) Bedrooms/bathrooms were well supplied and comfortable. Living spaces also comfortable and enjoyable.

It was clean and the Breen staff was very responsive and professional. The house decor and finishes were a little “tired”, and the location too near rte1, so we had car noise. Next time, we will select something a little closer to woods and beach.

Hartford House is really nice, particularly the guest house for the young adults. The kitchen is well appointed and the furniture is comfortable. The ping pong table was a treat as were the views from the balconies. It was simple to pop down to the Village and explore all the shops and eateries. We, and our dog had a great time!

We chose this house so that our extended family could have space to spread out and be together. There were beautiful views of the sunset toward the ocean and birds landing in the tops of trees. It was also in a perfect location to explore the surrounding area. On walks In the neighborhood we found deer, turkeys and foxes. We would return.

Cambria Long Weekend Rental
Great location on the hills, house was bright in a very quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to Main Street, made it very convenient. House has a lot of stairs, so may not be suitable for the elderly or families with small children. Garage door is standard height for sedans & SUVs, but too low for tall vans. Plenty of parking on the car port in front of house. Property Management top notch in customer service, providing updates on billing, house availability & check in. We enjoyed our stay, and would definitely come back.

We were all 100% satisfied with the home. Nothing is ever completely perfect, so there were a couple of notables that could be improved. The coffee maker needs to be replaced - doesn't really work unless you don't mind waiting 4 - 6 hours for a cup of coffee - we substituted hot water via the provided tea kettle pour over and that worked just fine. The guest room accessed through the garage would be better with at least one queen in the room instead of the two twins. Other than that - lots of laughter, super comfortable, kitchen is awesome, and lastly our "ping pong" competition was a big highlight for us.

We loved staying here! It was clean and cozy. The layout of the house is weird, and there are lots of stairs, but besides that I had no complaints! Gorgeous Home in Amazing Location
Our stay at Hartford House was perfect! The place was spotless, check-in was a breeze, the home was amazingly well furnished and organized. There were a lot of stairs in the home, so for those with mobility issues it may not be the right fit, but for all others, this place was an amazing option for a Cambria stay. We will certainly be back :)
