This was our second stay at this house. The house is great, is right on the beach, and the few from the deck is great. Location wise it’s perfect. Vilano Beach is just north of Downtown St. Augustine and is a great, quite beach. You’re also less than 7 min to Publix and 10 min to Downtown. We’ll definitely be back and 100% recommend.

This was a first of it’s kind of vacation for our family. The house was perfect for us. The view of the ocean was absolutely gorgeous, along with the view from the master bedroom through the French doors! We saw dolphins from the deck almost every morning of the week. Truly beach front. Cathy was super easy to work with and quickly responded to any questions. The place was stocked with everything needed to make it completely functional.. Just walk in with your belongings and you’re ready to go! I can’t say enough great things!!

A wonderful property with lots of updates! The inside is clean and comfortable. The view from the deck is amazing and has plenty of room for the whole family. Cathy is great and responds quickly to questions.

Peace & Serenity
This was our second visit. Last year we visited for a week. We loved it so much this year we stayed for two! The open and comfortable design of the house suited us and our dogs beautifully. Beautiful beach with access from the property and spatular ocean view from the deck. Close to great restaurants and fish markets. Lovely hosts who communicated well. Everting went seamlessly. We would not hesitate to return again!

This beach house makes you feel like you're on the beach whether you're inside in the dining/living area or on the spacious deck! Property owners are very thoughtful with the amenities provided. Close to downtown St. Augustine and convenient to near by grocery store. We are definitely looking forward to our next family vacation here.

Location perfect- conditions mediocre
Loved the location- bathrooms need to be gutted. Place needs to be deep cleaned- dead bugs in the bathroom lights. Makes me think Covid cleaning is non existent. Basic upgrades like towels that aren’t falling apart or stained- providing keurig pods- shampoo, soap, and conditioner… would have been nice (typical of all other places I’ve stayed). There is a floor lamp that is duct taped together. Not all lights have bulbs both interior and exterior. No tin foil, seran wrap or Tupperware if you are trying to cook in. Zero spices or oils. Interior needs to be painted in halls and doors need to be replaced.
Outdoor furniture was great! Newly resided (hopeful it will be painted white or kept gray with a fun front door color). Wonderful new exterior windows and doors. Living room furniture, large table and kitchen are perfect for the beach. Loved the wood floors.
If the owners would redo the master bathroom I would suggest putting a stackable washer and dryer where the tiny shower is and put a normal size tub/shower where the side by side washer/dryer currently are.
I would rent again only after improvements are made- the price warrants basic upgrades and amenities.

I cannot say enough great things about this house. The location, view from the huge deck, & direct access to the beach is the best you could ask for. Funky Beach Cottage
The beachfront location is absolutely spectacular. Beach for miles and superb views from the main living area and master bedroom. The road is VERY busy and noisy, parking is limited for anything more than one large vehicle on the property, (public access area next door for additional options if needed.)
The pictures are a bit outdated for the beach access due to recent beach and dune renourishment. There are no steps/seawall anymore, just a steep dune to descend and clamber back up.
The house is funky and fun, the decor is excellent and the furniture modern and well-appointed. The kitchen is a bit outdated, could use a new stove and dishwasher, (suggestion only, not a complaint.) Well appointed with cooking utensils and dishes, glasses, etc. The bathrooms are also a bit outdated, but clean and serviceable.
We enjoyed the sun deck which had a table, chairs, and a sun lounger. It was super hot the week we were there, appreciated the air conditioning!
We enjoyed our stay very much and would return happily. Thank you for sharing your super cool beach cottage!

Beautiful!
This property was just stunning. The location cannot be beat- right on the ocean and magical sunrises. We had the most relaxing vacation here. We didn't want to leave the house. Even on some chilly days/nights, just sitting inside looking out at the view could not be beat.
The ocean is your backyard and we were allowed to bring along our dog who had never seen a beach before! We had a great time and Cathy is such a responsive owner. The house is a rustic beach house, nothing fancy inside but has everything you need for a perfect, relaxing vacation. Thank you we hope to be back next year.

Beachfront /Ocean View Spectacular!
We loved this house, right on the beach, with a fabulous large 2nd floor deck facing the ocean. Walk out and you are on the wide, pristine clean beach, with wonderful views of sunrise. The main living room is large, with open kitchen (well-equipped), and wall-to-wall windows, bringing the ocean sights and sounds into the house. As a couple, for just the two of us (plus small dog), it was ideal! Highly recommend.

The city seems to be about finished with the beach restoration and there’s plenty of sand to enjoy, but you’re still just steps away from the water. We enjoyed a beautiful sunrise every morning and our dog loved sunning on the huge back deck! The house is cozy, rustic & clean. It was a great change of scenery—close enough to St. Augustine without feeling the crowds on the weekends. We especially enjoyed our meals at Cap’s On the Water, just past The Reef—better food and great sunsets on the river! And don’t miss GTM Reserve for nature walks and bike rides.

The 2nd parking space under the house needs to be filled and leveled out due to water erosion so it was pretty much unusable. Some of the landscape should be cut back for safety purposes while backing out of the property and it definitely could use some upkeeping since there was alot of overgrowth of grass and such. We came with 3 cars and it was a very tight squeeze getting in and out but we managed. The house was pretty clean. The beds were comfy. It would be nice it some blankets were available during the colder months. The kitchen is nicely stocked with plenty of dishware and patio has some really nice furniture for one to relax on. Would I stay here again? Absolutely The owner is a very very nice as well! We loved our stay and will visit again.

Our Beach home away from home
Amazing rustic, casual, beachy home we have been enjoying for years. We surf cast fish right in front of the house and take tons of walks with the dogs. My daughter enjoys surfing and we basically try not to leave the house much at all. This is a wonderful house for downtime and is equipped with everything you need. Deck is huge. Clean crisp linens a PLUS :)
Reef restaurant is our fave and is a very short walk down the beach! Short drive to St. Augustine and this time we tried the newly opened St. Aug Fish Camp- awesome.
New owner seems as sweet as the previous one too :)

An Ideal Getaway
This house has literally everything you need for a serene beach getaway. From cookware and cleaning supplies to linens and beach chairs, there wasn't a thing we needed that we couldn't find. There are even unexpected "extras" like a toolbox and scissors. If you're looking for seriously fancy, this probably isn't your rental. But if, like us, you're looking for a lovely, comfortable home on a prime stretch of quiet oceanfront property, you'll be in heaven. During our late August visit, the beach was often gloriously empty and always uncrowded. If we weren't on the beach, we lived in the rockers or lounge chairs on the massive deck. For you pet owners, there is ample space to set up crates or lay out dog beds, and extra sheets are provided specifically for covering the furniture, so no need to pack those as we did. The awesome deck is gated, so our pups could wander freely, and there's a lower spigot at the outdoor shower downstairs with a hose to clean up your salty, sandy pups. This is a phenomenal, comfortable, truly pet-friendly getaway!

Perfect Location!
The view from the deck is breath taking no matter what time of day it is! It's literally just steps away from the ocean, and that was very nice for all of us. The home is the perfect beach house. The beds are comfortable. Everything was nice and clean...the towels even smelled good. We had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed it so much. The only complaint we have is that the air conditioner did not cool to our satisfaction during the afternoon. However, it was very hot while we were there (mid-July), so it was totally understandable. We brought a few box fans with us and ran those throughout the day and night and managed just fine. Thanks so much for allowing us to stay.
