Enjoyed our stay. The house was clean but needs some renovatios

There were 10 of us here for a family event. The home is easy to get to, not far from the airport and shopping/eating places. The area was a well kept neighborhood and we felt safe. The house is older but had everything we needed. Having coffee available was a nice touch! There was one problem at the very beginning and the owners were quick to respond and solve it for us. Yes, I would definitely stay here again!

The house was perfect for our family. With 6 adults and 5 kids, there was plenty of room. Kitchen had all the basic necessities so we were able to make breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our dog loved the fenced in yard and our children loved having close access to the playground across the street. Owner was super easy to communicate with as we had an issue with the smart lock. He was quick to respond and quick to resolve the issue without it interfering with our schedule. Driveway provided plenty of room to park or RV and 2 cars with room left for the kids to play basketball. Great place!

We were in ROC for a wedding and needed a dog-friendly place with a fenced yard. This house was in a convenient location and had a 4.8 average rating. We suspect the cleaning/maintenance providers have changed recently, as our experience was much different from those of previous guests. Pre-stay communication and check-in process were fine. Upon arrival Thursday evening the fenced back yard was about calf-deep with grass, knee-high with weeds. Host messaged the night we arrived, advised us to let them know of any issues. We replied Friday morning asking if back yard could be mowed. No mowing or response for duration of our stay. As we were busy with wedding activities, we didn't have time to continue to try to reach them. We walked our dog around the neighborhood when possible but did find 2 ticks on him after he was in the yard. It was also challenging to pick up after him due to deep growth. Sunday evening we had a message from host with check-out instructions for Monday. No mention of yard request. We followed all check-out instructions, including starting a load of laundry and taking out trash for weekly pickup. Pros: Fenced yard ideal for dogs (if lawn properly maintained). Heating/cooling system great - we needed both during this stay. Water temp/pressure both excellent. Nice TV with numerous premium channels. Bathrooms worn but clean. Neighborhood great for walking, playground at school across street. Easy access to major highways. Plenty of shopping and dining nearby. Cons: Fridge had been moved leaving a very dirty area of floor fully exposed. Floors had perhaps been swept but needed thorough mopping, as evidenced by our socks after we removed shoes as sign requests. Dusty; entertainment center in particular covered in dust. Master bath has towel bar holders but bar itself missing. Bed blankets had funky/musty odors as if not washed. Limited clothing storage space. Kitchen not equipped for cooking full meals; only very basic dishes, utensils, pots & pans. No bathmats, dish towels, or potholders. No recycling bins indoors or outdoors. Welcome rules inside front door show different address, different trash pickup date, etc. We took photos of the good and the bad, but there's no way to attach them to this review. We would like this option and will suggest to VRBO. This could be a great property with more careful attention. We hope the owners will take this review to heart for both their own and future guests' benefit.

My now-wife and I were getting married in Rochester and were looking for a space to spend time with our out-of-town wedding party members. This was a *perfect* space for us to relax, sleep, and spend quality time with folks from the wedding. There were many, many beds available, ample sheets and toiletries provided, as well as a kitchen that was stocked with general cooking supplies that allowed us to enjoy homemade breakfast together. We’d highly recommend staying here, especially for groups of friends and family looking for a quiet place to hang their hats. Thank you!
