The room, staff & facilities were excellent. Unusual for us not to fault anything! The young chap (history graduate) behind the bar was delightful with a brilliant knowledge of your beers.
We weren’t told of the option to get a breakfast to go (we left early at 0645). Admittedly we did arrive at c.21.30hrs.

Location in beautiful Mendip countryside.
The room was spotless and had every amenity. Ironing board, iron, hairdryer, toiletries etc. tea and coffee, comfortable bed.
The food was not “award winning” and very expensive. The Sunday roast was inedible, pork overcooked, cabbage was raw. Roast potatoes had been cooked for a long time before serving and were grey inside(old)
We tried the Fish & Chips later and the fish was skin on which meant you had to remove it and the batter to get to the meat. The Chips were frozen, not freshly prepared. The full English breakfast was just as bad, prepared in advance and under a heating lamp, sausage was hard, bacon overcooked, black pudding was like fried ash. The poached eggs however were very good.
