We LOVED it! During our 3.5-week trip to Japan, we stayed in all ranges of hotels - from super fancy to more basic - so we saw a lot of options along the way. This hotel (house) was tucked away on a local street, with simple charm and comfort. I didn't realize when I booked it that we'd have our own house to ourselves. We felt like locals, and we loved it!
We've been to Kanazawa before, and we found it easy to walk to sites and revisit areas of interest. And the coffee shop/breakfast downstairs was a terrific way to start each day. We had our own private space in the back, and the food, atmosphere, and service were fantastic. (We were not able to dine at night because the restaurant was booked, so plan ahead if you want to enjoy the dinner experience. I'm sure it's fantastic too.) We would definitely stay here again.

An amazing town house. An old Japanese house that has been renovated. Nice, clean, great location, comfortable. A lot of space . Everything was perfect.
We thought be booked a four star hotel (as described in booking), but in reality, it’s not a hotel. It’s an Airbnb house. We were surprised that we had to let ourselves in, never met the owner. No other rooms/guests /staff

The place was cozy, clean, and busting with character. Ryoko took sick good care of us, and the breakfasts were amazing.
