Such a unique experience. This property is in the process of getting lovingly restored to its original 1938 glory. In the center is a gathering spot for all who are staying that evening. It is a chance to meet fellow travelers and share experiences, and put down your phone and interact around a bonfire created by the host each evening. Absolutely magical!
Some of the rooms are still under renovation, so be aware that you may be in a room that is quite original. But that only adds to the charm!

Unique sleeping experience. Host gave a great history talk and started the fire pit for all the guests. Was great talking with them.

Cute little place, very vintage, but they really try to keep everything well maintained and tidy. The owners light a bonfire each evening & at check-in encourage the guests to socialize together there like times gone by. They provide "marshmallow sticks" & guests can bring or go to the local stores to get Smores ingredients. The room was cozy but not tight, had ceiling fan w/ light plus a small lamp on the table along with the coffee pod brewer & WIFI router. Nice sized TV w/ cable above that. The window AC unit worked well & not super noisy. The original 80+ old furniture was well maintained. Bathroom was set up well for the small space. Angled shower was large with a handheld showerhead & great water pressure. Plenty of towels & blankets & coffee/tea supplies for us 2. Ice machine right by the rooms. Resident cats were friendly & patient.
No refrigerator in room, we brought a cooler. Room had an 'old building' smell; probably unavoidable but good to know if that will bother you. Bathroom & shower were clean enough, slight but noticeable smell around the toilet. The floor tile grout looks like it needs a good scrubbing but probably just discolored with age.

The experience was memorable.
The location wasn’t great— on a busy highway, next to a trailer park and near railroad tracks. It was difficult to stay warm- there was a space heater that wasn’t enough to heat the whole wigwam although the heater was on high. The benches near the fire were in rough shape- one was broken and another was very close to breaking. It was WAY over-priced and I would not stay there again.
