Overall the stay was fine. Some minor adjustments could be made to make the home more comfortable, like painting the upstairs bedrooms and updating furniture. Location was beautiful, and the house itself was relatively clean.

I implore you — DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE. It is far worse than you might expect. While the price suggests it could be worth the risk, it is not. Any “positive” reviews are misleading.
The outside is okay. But the inside is uninhabitable, especially in August. I know what you’re thinking, I can handle it…. Listen to me. Stay somewhere, anywhere else. DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE.
We’ve rented homes on MV for 20 years and this is by far the worst home we’ve ever had. And don’t be fooled by the pictures. They are many years old. The entire house smells of mildew because (when it rains) there is standing water in the basement. You couldn’t even use the laundry because the smell was so strong. The walls are filthy. And kitchen and bathrooms are in desperate need of repair. DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE.
But it gets worse. Because there is no A/C, the owners provide fans with layers of dirt and dust. That is the only “cooling” system and it doesn’t help alleviate the trapped heat on 80 degree days. You just cook and sweat inside the home. So much so that we had to leave to get some relief.
Finally, please note that we made the owners aware of these issues and neither them nor Vacasa management did anything to address them. Apparently, they are uninterested in meeting basic expectations for rental accommodations. These folks are just taking advantage of people.
If you book this house, you will regret it.

Ants everywhere(we took photos) hundreds of them! Also very unbearably hot no a/c and it felt like every time we went to open a door it was broken on had something wrong with it. Whole bottom floor stunk like mold and there was only one tv in the entire house! Was very very disappointed. Also huge laundry bag was left on the front steps the entire weekend full of dirty laundry.

I had several problems, the house wasnt all set up and i had to set up and clean the deck furniture. Most important there was no wifi access as advertised and problem wasn't resolved before i left. I havent heard back from vacasa or owner about reimbursing some of the fee to offset these problems. I booked this specifically for wifi

Having spent a few summers MV earlier in my life, I was excited to rent this home. It was fine. The neighborhood was quiet. It was pretty clean (some old stains on the stairway carpeting and evidence of a mouse in the basement). The lack of AC was definitely an issue for some of my travel companions the first two nights (there were a lot of fans going when we entered). I think we found the location the most challenging - nice quiet spot, but pretty removed from any of the three major towns and a bit of a hike to some favorite up island spots. All in all, a nice home, but unlikely to rent it again.

The initial posting said 2 full baths, we thought both showers would be inside. The size is great and accommodated our group of 6 adults. I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time there, it is very dated. The biggest complaint were the bugs. There were bugs everywhere. Piles of dead bugs in the lights, dead bugs caked to the fans, and live ones thought-out the house.

The house was lovely. Quiet neighborhood. Clean, safe, and spacious. There are no air conditioners but we knew that. They had plenty of fans and we lucked out on the weather mud-July. My gmom loved the house. There was cable, internet, and access to our Netflix which was great. Clean linens were provided. Nice backyard deck. Washer and dryer on site. Overall lovely property! Would definitely re-book.

This Edgartown road rental is a large open space in a quiet neighborhood well suited for a big family. The one drawback for us was that it was a drive to just about everywhere, nothing was within walking distance of the home.

Property management company was no help. We didn’t have heat. We didn’t have hot water. There is a 2ft hole in the ceiling of the lower bathroom. Upstairs shower and tub doesn’t function. All of the tv remote batteries were dead. The sliding doors are a death trap. Just don’t book this house.

While the house is not updated or fancy, had one broken, unusable shower, and a large hole in the ceiling of another bathroom, over all it was comfortable, clean, very spacious, more affordable than other options we found, in a great location and neighborhood, and was a wonderful spot for our vacation.

We did receive a small credit for the inconvenience. House is spacious. Furnishings are in need of updating but are functional. We would stay here again.

I left a detailed review for the management company, Vacasa, but never heard back from them on the many issues my friends and I faced while staying here. This house had the potential to be perfect for my group of friends while we were on Martha’s Vineyard for a wedding. Unfortunately, the downstairs bathroom had a huge hole in the ceiling and anytime anyone showered upstairs, water would pour into the downstairs bathroom. By the end of the weekend, there were a few inches of standing water on the floor. The hole in the ceiling was next to a light fixture, so for our safety we kept the light off, so this bathroom was just dark and extremely unsafe. We alerted the management team of this the moment we discovered it, and they didn’t really offer a solution except for some extra towels to put down - they weren’t going to do anything at all, but I had to ask for towels to try to soak up the water as a last resort. I know it sounds like I’m complaining a lot, but the towels they brought smelled like mildew and made the water entire house smell. The house was also full of mosquitos and spiders. We really appreciated the abundance of fans throughout the house, because we happened to be there when it was extremely hot. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again because the house clearly needs some maintenance and our communication with the management company was lackluster. I was told by one of the Vacasa staff that their manager would call me to discuss the issues in the house, but I never heard from anyone. I waited several days to leave this review just in case I could contribute something more positive after possibly speaking to someone at Vacasa, but I didn’t hear from anyone and I’m just super disappointed overall with our experience here.

Our stay was wonderful! The communication with the property management was professional and friendly and welcoming. They let us know all about the house, the neighborhood, and even before we arrived on the ferry informed us that the property was ready, allowing for an early check in! We would definitely return again!
