The apartment is modern, well equipped and exactly as shown in the photos. The dishwasher and washing machine were very convenient, and the blackout shutters were particularly welcome when travelling with children.
The location is fantastic. Chueca is lively but we always felt safe, and being close to both Gran Vía and Chueca stations gave us excellent transport options. There are countless restaurants, bars and shops nearby, and the historical centre is within walking distance.
The main disappointment was the lack of warmth and maintenance. The apartment is clearly company-run: check-in was impersonal, communication was with a team, and the hosts never checked in during our stay. We were informed about the bathroom maintenance (and from the reviews this situation has been going on for some time), but the temporary solution for lighting was poor and, judging by previous reviews, this has been raised several times without improvement.
The oven also did not work despite appearing brand new. We spent considerable time trying to use it before being offered a maintenance visit. Again, previous reviews suggest this is not a new issue.
Checkout also felt unnecessarily rigid. We were asked to send photographic proof of where we left the keys to avoid a replacement charge, and were required to remove all rubbish by the 11am checkout despite rubbish collection only starting at 8pm.
Overall, someone has clearly invested in creating a stylish and comfortable apartment in an excellent location, but it lacks the personal touch and maintenance needed to match it. Chueca is also Madrid’s well-known LGBTQ+ neighbourhood, which we were completely comfortable with, but may be useful context for some travellers.

We were not told until the day before check in that the shower needed extensive repairs. It was functional, but inconvenient.

Piso superior bien ubicado, luminoso, silencioso y con más de lo necesario para pasar 5 noches.
La cerradura es medio difícil. Le agarré la mano pero tiene sus trucos. En una oportunidad se olía a sifón de la cloaca, pero supongo que fue por que nos ausentamos un dia. Nada grave que no haya tenido solución rápida.

Estuvimos un día sin luz en el baño y cuando la arreglaron resulto que era una luz de emergencia con muy poca iluminación. Y de la forma que estaba colocada iluminaba solo una parte de la cara. La otra quedaba a oscuras lo cual no era cómodo para que mi marido se afeitara. El techo estaba sin cerámicos y con los caños a la vista. El baño no tenia electricidad. El enchufe no funcionaba. El baño no está para nada de acuerdo con el precio pagado
