Location is spectacular. Lots of room in the apartment and well equipped kitchen/laundry etc. communication from Excel always quick and efficient. Door codes arrived right on schedule at the time of check-in. We arranged an early check-in for small fee.
Stairs - but fair warning was given - not for someone with mobility issues or really heavy suitcases.
Two main gripes - the bed is well past its used by date - you can feel springs sticking into you and it sags markedly towards the middle.
Perhaps a symptom of Britain in general especially with global warming. It’s Time to air condition the entire country!! The apartment is on the top floor and has very limited natural ventilation. Windows in the bedroom cannot really be opened because of an exhaust fan from a restaurant outside. Windows on the other side only open a small amount and airflow is impeded by the double glazing arrangement. Some airflow is possible by opening the rooftop access door. An inadequately powered fan was available - but essentially our stay was very hot and uncomfortable sleeping at night. Aircon is the most efficient form of both cooling AND heating - far more so than the Hotwater central heating invented in the 1830’s - a technology almost 200 years old, which the apartment utilises.
A new bed and reverse cycle aircon, and this will be a cracker of a place to stay.
