Located in Arnold, this attractive house for $604 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Enjoy a lovely, custom-built home nestled in the woods located on one plus acre in Arnold. The Chaffalu Home is only a 2.5 -hour drive from the Bay Area. The home (3000’ elevation) is perfectly situated near Bear Valley Resort (27 miles) and Downtown Murphys Village (10 miles), known for their charming Main Street inclusive of high quality cuisine, boutique shopping, historic architecture and boasting over two dozen wine tasting rooms. Outdoor activities include hiking, mountain biking, swimming in our private pool, local public-access lakes, skiing/snowboarding/sledding at Bear Valley Resort, 9 miles to Calaveras Big Trees State Park, approximately 2.5 hours to Yosemite and 3.25 hours to Tahoe. The home has something for everyone: the peace and quiet of a small town, with charming restaurants nearby and wine tasting just a short drive away; plenty of outdoor activity options to choose from or just cozy up inside by the fireplace with a mug of hot cocoa. Kids will love the double bunk beds downstairs and huge playroom as well as large backyard with basketball court, sports equipment and toys. The home was designed to accommodate two or three families comfortably: Main/Lower level: Queen bedroom with new 40” smart TV and option to use full bath with shower/tub or separate half bath; kids room with double bunk-beds and room for an on-floor memory-foam mattress (located in the closet); fully-equipped kitchen with every small appliance and utensil needed (some spices if you have forgotten yours); recreation room with 40” smart TV with Wii console, Foosball Table, ½ shuffleboard table (grandpa made), family games, puzzles, coloring books/generous amount of art supplies, and space for an air mattress; full-size washer and dryer (brand new) in the laundry room; half bath; and incredibly spacious living room with big-screen TV with cable and a wood burning fireplace (firewood provided). Upper level: Two King bedrooms with new 40” smart TVs in each room; full bathroom with shower stall. The Kitchen: Stocked with everything you need to cook as if you were at home. Frying pans, pancake cast iron skillet, waffle maker, sauté pans, egg poacher, deep sauce pan/steamer, steaming basket insert, blender, small food processor, juicer, rice cooker, pressure cooker, crockpot, electric wok, coffee mugs/cups, glasses, tumblers, speciality cocktail drink glasses, martini and margarita glasses, plates, bowls of various sizes, Tupperware, cookie sheets, pie pans, bread/loaf pans, Nespresso Machine, Drip Coffee pot and French Press, coffee grinder, microwave, double oven, platters, plastic pool tumblers/plates/baskets, marshmallow roasting sticks and food prep tools (garlic press, potato peeler, cheese slicer, tablespoons/teaspoons, measuring cups, wisks, spatulas). Outside: Large deck/patio on two sides with patio furniture; in ground swimming pool (not heated and open May-September), plenty of pool lounge furniture and umbrellas; wood campfire pit and marshmallow roasting sticks and BBQ. The house was great. Very large, clean and well stocked. The teens really enjoyed the hangout room- they played Wii, air hockey, and had a great time making huge Lego creations. The house was quiet and conveniently located close to a grocery store and restaurants.

Came here with my family and some friends for the MLK weekend. The house was great…the pictures don’t do it justice. It was large and provided more than enough room for our party of 9. Beds and sheets were very comfortable. We loved hanging out in front of the fire watching tv and playing games. It snowed many inches while we were there and had a great time sledding down the driveway!

I can’t recommend this property enough. It was perfect for our family of 9. It’s a huge space and each room is spacious. It’s great because the game room is nearly sound proof if you close the door, giving peace and quiet in the rest of the house. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. Plus the communication was perfect.

Rented the property for an annual girls trip. The house was perfectly set up for all of us. Many hours spent in the pool. Close to nearby Murphy's where we spent the afternoon wine tasting and shopping. The kitchen was stocked with all the tools and necessities needed for this gourmet chef.

Really enjoyed this house. It’s on a quiet little street, not in a housing development. It’s got everything you could need inside and out. We really enjoyed the sparkling clean pool and the cool grassy backyard with basketball court. All surrounded by a beautiful forest. You could spend the whole vacation at the house, but there’s great hiking and fishing in the area, and good dining options in Murphy’s down the road. Or just hit the Big Trees Market a few minutes down the road and eat in. Can’t imagine a better spot to enjoy the Sierra summer.

Perfect for families
This house has everything you need ! We were in the summer so the pool was used everyday. We especially appreciated the locked pool gate as we had 3 little ones. Every toy and game imaginable for inside and outside fun. Best stocked kitchen I have ever seen in a rental, I felt like we were in our own home. 5+ star cleanliness! Host was very responsive before; during and after our stay. Highly recommend this property!

Pool Time
Beautiful home with a great layout. The rooms were all very nice and floor plan of the house worked great for all of our needs. Everyone loved spending the day at the pool and once the shade made it to the basketball area everyone enjoyed playing corn hole and basketball. The location is nice too, close to Big trees market which was well stocked, Snow shoe brewery, and White pines lake. We’re already discussing plans to stay there again.

Wonderful family getaway
Loved this home inside and out. Kitchen very well stocked. The kids and adults enjoyed the bonus room full of toys and games. The separation of the bonus room and living room worked well. The location was perfect not too far off the main road but didn’t hear any traffic noise and felt very private. The backyard was amazing! Since it was February we didn’t get to use the pool but it looked great! Liked that the pool was fenced separately from the rest of the yard. The pictures online didn’t do it justice. The yard was much bigger than expected, it was also fenced. Lots of toys outside as well. Kathy was a wonderful host and communicated well. I would highly recommend visiting this home.

House was great for our families with young kids - game room was a hit! Warm during winter and close to the market, Murphy's and Bear Valley skiing. Would definitely stay here again!

Great Home Stay away from Home
We liked the house a lot. It had everything you need in a home . Kitchen was well equipped with enough resources to even serve 10 to 12 people including serving utensils for kids as well.
The sport room was great with skylights. Kids and us have spent much time there. The grill worked very easily. The house was clean .There is a super market less than a mile away so you can get all groceries and other needs from there as needed.We spent all 4 days together there without getting any boreness!
Just few things which might add more fun to future residents -
The bunk beds had edged logs on roof, which is not safe for kids to slee there.
Probably a pool or table tennis can add a lot for bigger groups in game room !

I found this gem in the mountains and I just knew it was the perfect setting for our family getaway to the snow. We came up with my parents, my sister and her family, and my aunt. The kitchen was more than well equipped and spacious enough to have multiple people prepping meals at the same time. The large living room with the vaulted beam ceiling, gorgeous stacked stone fireplace and large picture windows was the perfect place to relax and hang out as a family or just have adult time. The kids bunk room can accommodate 5 children for sleeping but the best part is they have their own hang out/game room separate from the living room. All of the adult bedrooms as really spacious with their own smart tv’s which provides you with a place to retreat to if you just want some space away from the friends or family you love so much. This house accommodated all 12 of us so perfectly which really made our weekend relaxing and stress free. The fire pit with string lights for s’mores at night and the half basketball court was the icing on the already delicious cake. We can’t wait to book for a week over the summer so we can enjoy the pool too!
