Everything at this place was top notch. The host, Bhagyashree was super sweet and welcoming. We arrived late in the night but had not paid for the rooms in advance. The staff were courteous enough to hold our booking without payment and without canceling it. Bhagyashree also went out of her way by offering us some pastries despite it being super late in the night, to celebrate one of our friends' birthdays. The rooms were very clean and quite spacious. The lawn and the litchi orchard amidst which the property is situated made it a beautiful setting. The customer service though is truly commendable. Each of our rooms had a box of deliciously baked cookies. You can also order breakfast at the property or order from outside. We ordered poha, pancakes and coffee that was truly delicious. The location of this place is also well situated, it's easily accessible to all the places that you'd want to visit in Doon. I would totally recommend this place for their rooms, service and hospitality.

The hotel is located in the midst of nature. It's inside the town but has it's own natural beauty around it. Beautiful to spend time indoors & outdoor.

I doubt I could do justice to how much I recommend this place with a review. Nestled away right on the main road, this property gives one a cozy feeling the moment you walk in. The quaint building set in sprawling lawns makes you feel at home even before you check in. We happened to chance by this place when looking for places online, and have no regrets. The proprietor Bhagyashree went out of her way to make sure we felt at home even though we arrived weary at 10PM. I've never felt so welcomed or cared for as a guest at a hotel/b&b. The breakfast is also cooked on the premises by family so is basically home cooked, and was wonderful. All the staff were courteous and helpful and definitely recommend anyone visiting Dehradun to without thought stay here. Bhagyashree even gave us company and had great conversation as we had a late bus and we're just chilling in the lobby. Cocoon by name, Cocoon by feeling!

The host employs a bait and switch policy, they show you a non renovated room in poor condition and say that that is the

Good location and potential to be a nice property if the only the hosts are more upfront and don’t use deception.

This property is under renovation with half the rooms renovated and other rooms literally have plaster peeled off the walls. As soon as I walk in the host shows me a room with peeled plaster on the walls and proceeds to tell me that this is the boutique room I booked. But if I were to pay 40% more she has a better room for me. It really upset me but since it was getting late in the night I chose to take the expensive room and bargained the price down a bit. They also wanted me to cancel the booking on Booking.com so they get out of payment to Booking.com. Otherwise the host was very civil and polite but this deception really put me off.

Very personable host. good location, nice place overall.

I really appreciated the thoughtfulness and helpfulness of the host, which made it much more than just a stay in another hotel or hostel. I liked the way that the accommodation is back from the road. Tasty breakfast. Also a good location for me to head out to Mussorie. Although only breakfast is provided, I was happy to order in food after a day of site seeing.

Quiet and Comfortable

Location perfect for IndiaHikes meeting point next morning at 6.30am. Quiet place. Felt safe.

If the hot water geyser had worked, and I did not need to have a cold-water bath at 6am, the stay would have been perfect. The owner did say turn it on early, at least half an hour before, I waited an hour.

If you are planning to visit Dehradun must stay with your family in The Cocoon peaceful and phenomenal place as an artist my suggestion to the host inside interior can be converted into the heritage look.

A trekker's retreat!

My friend and I stayed here after our trek. We loved the place and the service offered is nothing short of exceptional as compared to their tariff. The breakfast was really delicious and we would definitely recommend it to fellow trekkers going with India hikes. Many times better than Hotel Grand Legacy where we put up prior to our trek.

Stayed here before a trek. Room was cozy, clean and had heating too as it was very cold. The host, Bhagyashree extended warm hospitality and helped us with restaurant recommendations.

Beautiful and Comfortable stay

The Cocoon is a very cozy place to stay. Would recommend it to anyone who comes to stay in Dehradun!! The place is hidden in a super busy location, but just cross the gate and you are in a place that is calm, quiet, serene and a world of its own. The rooms are really clean, and the bathroom was spic and span. They have home cooked food, which is really fresh and delicious. The manager is really nice too and takes care of everything. Bhagyashree and Sanchit, the hosts, were really friendly and warm. We talked with Bhagyashree mostly, and she took care of every detail. Do visit this place, if you wish to have a comfortable stay in Dehradun!!

We had a comfortable stay in the cocoon . We enjoyed walking in the huge orchard of mango and litchi. The room was very spacious and the service was efficient. The staff were very polite too.The room also had a good connectivity (Wi-Fi). The hosts were very humble and greeted us with warmth .We hope to spend another holiday in the Cocoon in future.It is located in the middle of the city and on the main road yet we were close to nature for the orchard .

Quiet comfortable stay.

The rooms were clean and comfortable the host was welcoming. Breakfast was excellent.

They served an excellent breakfast but it couldn't be arranged before 9:15 AM, that was the earliest timing for having breakfast in the hotel.

Great Stay

We stayed at the Cocoon twice and had a great experience. Its quite an oasis on a busy street. The rustic building in between the orchard gives a sense of calm. The hosts are very approachable. I particularly loved the breakfast options. The staff were kind to set up a table for us on the lawn to enjoy the morning sun. The rooms are sufficiently spacious and do have air-conditioning as well as heater options. We picked this hotel as it was close to the pick-up location of our trek and would highly recommend it for anyone who's looking for a clean, budget hotel in the area.

Homestay in the midst of greenery at an excellent location

The host was very warm and helpful. The location was great with greenery around. The room was also neat and clean.

The place needs more lighting at the entrance and the pathway to the porch.
