The hotel was so clean, it smelled great in the hallways, our room was clean, the bed was so so comfortable, we slept so so well. The breakfast was perfect for us, every morning there was yoghurt, fruit, granola, cereal, juices, cold meats, cheese, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, sliced bread, rolls, pastries & preserves, tea & coffee. Every staff member we met were so friendly and helpful. We loved this hotel. It is less than 1 minute walk from Barbès - Rochechouart Metro Station. 20 minutes walk from Moulin Rouge, 8 minutes from the Sacré-Coeur.
I recommend if your going out of the hotel walking the area, head in the direction of Moulin Rouge/Sacré-coeur. The area is sketchy if you go in the other direction. Don't let this put you off, the hotel is worth it. We were never approached by any of the people hanging around the train station steps, there are a lot of them hanging around. When I first walked out of the Metro I was like, "oh no" but its actually fine. I planned to use the gym each morning before sightseeing but the gym is a small room in the basement level, it is packed full of equipment, very good, well maintained equipment but its a small space for so much equipment, very tight, it is also very hot in the room before you start working out. I choose to go walking instead of using the gym.

The breakfast…
The bed was very comfortable!
The room was small. Its a must to take this in reconsideration.
The water pressure of the rainshower is a challenge in the morning and evening. I guess every guest is taking a shower.

it was close to the metro train line and within a reasonable walking distance of the fast train station
The room was super tiny and no where to leave cases so they had to stand upright next to the bed, two people in the room had to be sitting on bed to let other one past for bathroom etc.
The coffee cups were small expresso size so you could not make a normal size coffee.
The streets outside of the hotel and near the entrance to the metro train station had lots of people selling (illegal?) cigarettes or something in small packets and there were quite a few homeless people living on the streets as well.
First day we were told breakfast included but on second day told it was not. The breakfast served at the admin counter and really for the price you pay to stay per night, a continental breakfast shouldn't cost much to provide. Luckily Burger King just next door!
