Ferienwoche hat unsern Ansprüchen und Erwartungen entsprochen.

Frühstücksbuffet, reichlich, ausgewogen, zeitlich gut bis 10.00 Uhr.

Nur ein 4-gängiges Abendessen. Erst um 19.00 Uhr serviert, für uns zu spät.

Location and breakfast

Old small rooms, smelly, no AC, people smoking on their balconies and it’s impossible to open windows, because the cigarettes smell goes into the room.

The Best Family Hotel in Switzerland

- lovely and helpful staff - amazing interior design - family-like atmosphere - high quality room furniture and towels - amazing views - convenient location (next to the buss station and 5 minute walk to the city center and main train station) - exquisite breakfast - possibility of purchasing Jungfrau passes - free parking space - balcony with a spectacular view - multilingual service

Our two-night stay at the Hotel Gletschergarten was the highlight of a great trip.

The room was large, tastefully decorated, exceptionally well-lighted and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner a pleasure with the attentive staff and great food. The view from our terrace was totally awesome.

Nothing. The experience so far exceeded our expectations that there are no complaints. We celebrated our 65th wedding anniversary here. The owners and staff made us feel like honored guests- an unforgettable experience!

A lovely stay at Hotel Gletschergarten.

A lovely family run authentic hotel, full of charm and history. We felt welcomed straight away, our room had wonderful wooden alpine architecture with a balcony view of the mountains. Plenty of storage for cloths and a huge comfortable bed. Although we booked for B&B, we found the daily dinner menu so good and reasonably priced that we ate at the hotel every night, although our decision was influenced by the tendency for rain to occur during the evenings. Good fortune, as we had five days walking without any rain. Young and old, we are both approaching 75, were at the hotel and it was a convivial place to dine, with much chatter between quests. All the staff were lovely, but we would like to mention Rossi and Joseph for their attentive care and send them our best wishes. We highly recommend Hotel Gletschergarten.

Beautiful Classic Hotel with Kind Owners! 😊

Fantastic stay! Had a small and very quaint single room with an Amazing top floor balcony view of the mountains & church! The room was very comfortable & quiet! Gaby & Gery were wonderful hosts and very kind & friendly too! The breakfast and dinner were delicious, with beautiful views of the mountains! It was fun exploring all the unique dining rooms and the old photos and antiques in the creaky stairways. There was a surprise moment when I heard some loud, clanging cow bells from the breakfast room! I went out the front door and there were many cows marching up the street with their beautiful bells! 😊 There are so many great hiking opportunities around Grindelwald! I did a long steep hike to Brandegg train station! It was a very rewarding hike with Amazing panoramic views in every direction! Every once in a while, you could hear a noise that sounded like thunder. I believe it was the ice falling from the Eiger! There's a bus stop just a few steps from the hotel! There are so many choices for excursions, that I have to keep coming back again and again!

Great stay in the heart of Grindelwald.

The fixed menu dinner is excellent and the service all around the hotel is one of the best we experienced. The attention to details makes a big difference to other properties and the owners are present every step of the way to make our stay enjoyable. The well equipped play room filled the days when snow conditions did not allow us to hit the ski-runs. The shuttle throughout Grindelwald stopping in front of the hotel is very convenient as well as the free entries offered to the Grindelwald Sportcenter (ice skating, pool) to all benefiting of the visitor card are of great value.

The Best of the Best

This was our best stay out of 5 places in Switzerland! The hotel and our room (27) were FIRST CLASS. Our wrap-around balcony had views of mountains with glaciers. The room was quiet and spacious. We ended up eating the price-fixed dinner at their restaurant twice because it was so good. The owner even picked us up and dropped us off at the train station. And Grindelwald is a fabulous destination - far better than Zermatt. We are returning!!!

Great hotel with an amazing staff!

The room was cozy with excellent views. The staff was amazing and helpful. The breakfast was very good with a good variety. The dinner at the hotel was definitely worth it. We will definitely stay again when we visit.

Great.

We all enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. The location was excellent with a pleasant stroll to the shops and restaurants. Carparking places opposite hotel were great also. The room was clean and basic with dated decor but the lovely, modern & spacious bathroom made up for this. The bed was comfortable, except for the pillows. The veranda with it's lovely views was a real treat in the evenings. The breakfast consisted of fruit, yoghurt, cereal, breads, meats and cheese and was plentiful. Limited menu option for an evening meal but there were lots of restaurants close by.

Pillows- were very flat and not good. Only herbal tea and sugar in the room. We expected to have sachets of coffee. This still wouldn't put me off staying here again.

Beautiful hotel, comfy beds, and yummy dinner and wine. We can't wait to return!

The beds were very comfy, we had a beautiful view and balcony. Exceptional service with a ride to and from the airport, assistance with purchasing tickets and making plans. Breakfast was substantial, dinner was off the charts delicious with fantastic wine options. This was at the top of our list of where to return in Switzerland. The history of the hotel was interesting, and it is wonderful to see generational management-they treat guests well. We came exhausted from travel and hiking and this was the perfect place to regenerate.

Magical Swiss Hotel, so beautiful and comfortable.

This place is gorgeous. The owners were so sweet and we loved sitting on the balcony enjoying the view and being in the "lounge" having wine and talking to Lars. The wood and history of the place made it magical! Nice breakfast and great experience.

While it was only about 12 minutes from the train station, it is UP hill, so be aware of that. Unseasonably hot and no air conditioning but that isn't unusual here... Small room, but that was expected.
