The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was extremely good with full english and choice of cereal, juice etc. Although parts of the hotel feel in need of a little tlc it was very comfortable and the bar lounge area were beautiful with lots of antiques and original features which we loved. We would definitely stay here again.

A grand old building with lots of character. It was in the town so a short walk from shops and places to eat, but felt tucked away.
We stayed in a family room which was clean and comfortable.
The staff were lovely and couldn't have been more attentive. It had a very homely atmosphere.
Breakfast was excellent.
We had a wonderful stay.
It was a shame that they are no longer able to provide evening meals, but we managed to find a pub in town which was a walk away.

The location was perfect for us. We headed there for Alton towers. So was great distance.
It needs a full refurbishment. I’ve been staying there since I was small but this time it felt old and needed new carpets, and the electric to be looked at in the room.
