The hotel was clean and well kept. The food was good, with a good selection. One morning we needed to start out before breakfast so the hotel prepared sandwiches for us the night before.
First, the shower is poorly designed in that the glass wall extends only half the length of the tub and there's no curtain so the water winds up all over the bathroom floor. Also, there are no mirrors in the bathroom; this made shaving difficult and putting my contact lenses in awkward. Second, our room was directly above the back door of the kitchen, which meant that we heard all the kitchen noise, especially when the kitchen staff emptied a large bin of bottles and cans. Worse, the kitchen staff took their smoking break right below our windows, so the smoke drifted right into our room -- despite many signs every saying that smoking was prohibited in all rooms. For a non-smoking room we shouldn't have to smell other people cigarette smoke.

Very nice pub, good Sunday Roast & lovely garden overlooking a Llama field. Rooms were very good value.
Only slight negative was that the Bedrooms are very small & basic, but fine for a short stay!

The dining experience was enjoyable, featuring a diverse menu with a variety of tasty options. The staff provided polite and attentive service. Guests can expect comfortable beds, and the rooms are well-maintained and clean. Additionally, free parking is available, making it convenient for visitors.
Parking arrangements for disabled guests could be improved, as there are currently only two designated disabled spaces available we could see, and these are situated a considerable distance from the entrance. During peak times, these spaces can be occupied, forcing disabled guests to park further away in a car park that has several potholes. Additionally, noise levels in the area can be problematic, particularly after midnight, with doors opening and closing and conversations continuing for hours with the pub below, making it difficult for guests to get an uninterrupted night's sleep.

The location worked well for us and breakfast was delicious every day.
The room was too hot and the window didn't open enough to let cool air in so we couldn't fall asleep for ages. The shower temperature control didn't work so my kids (2 and 6 months) hated the shower. I was also expecting a bath for them based on the description of the room given at booking. The bathroom was also tiny and you couldn't even open the door fully. Trying to wash 2 kids in a tiny shower that was too hot was terrible. There wasn't enough space to put clothes away so we were digging around in a suitcase all week. But to top it all off we had booked 2 rooms and were mostly staying in 1 due to a change of plans with my mum not joining us but keeping the booking of 2 rooms just in case and to have a bit more room (and potentially my husband would have slept in the other room if it had been cooler in temperature the first night). So we left the room key to the spare room in the room while we were out. The next morning we couldn't find it and thought we had lost it so spent ages looking for it including looking at lost property where we'd been the previous day etc. I told the staff because I needed their help to open the room so I could use the other shower because the temp control didn't work and the shower in our room was too hot, and they didn't mention anything really about the key. Then on the last day I saw a cleaner who I asked to open the room so I could get my shower stuff out of it and she apologised that she had taken the key from our room because she was confused why it was in there and then never put it back?!?! This causes us significant stress and time wasting and I am inclined to ask for a refund on the second room because of it. She was apologetic but it was incredibly unhelpful for her to do that and then not check that, yes we had booked both rooms and so she should have put the key back where it was in the other room.
